Dr. Samuel Chung, MD

About three years ago, my previous doctor wrote in my medical chart that I made inappropriate remarks about my appearance. He also falsely told me that he was retiring and transferred me to another physician, but I recently found out that he is still practicing.

Prescribed meds to a family member on 2 separate occasions that had known bad interactions with current meds. Is not compassionate & does not seem to care or enjoy his job anymore

I have a rather complicated medical history, but Dr. Chung has done an excellent job of coordinating with the different specialists. He always spends enough time with me.

My husband visited Dr. Chung for the first time. He was not very friendly - just to the point, seemed indifferent and like he doesn't really care about the patient. We got married within a year of my husband seeing Dr. Chung. My husband mentioned that we were thinking about having children and also raised a concern that we had related to pregnancy and the health of the baby. He inappropriately remarked - you just got married. Why do you want to have kids so soon? He made a lot of assumptions with his comments instead of addressing our concerns like a doctor should. My husband also has pain due to a previous surgery that he had many years ago. An orthopedic surgeon had already told him he needed to have surgery on it again to remove a plate inserted. However, since my husband had switched insurance, he had to start over again with the referral process. Dr. Chung didn't even check him. He did say that if he isn't in CONSTANT pain, he shouldn't have surgery. Sounds like his approach… is don't fix it unless its broken instead of fix it before it breaks! Needless to say, he will not be going back.

Dr. Chung has been my primary physician for 5 years. He listens and acts quickly. He is sharp and knows what to do. He is not there to socialize, but I definitely feel I am in good, trustworthy hands. I don't think Kaiser generally allows much time per patient, so when you make an appointment, be sure to tell them every thing you need taken care of, so they can book the appropriate time with him.

I hate staying in the waiting area hours and hours but Dr. Chung usually doesn't make me wait long. He works quickly and he does fine job. If you like to spend some time with your doctors and chat, he is not that kind of doctor. I personally like his quick check up and professional manner.

Dr. Chung is very clear headed and caring. He "gets it" quickly and treats thoroughly. I get the feeling he cares more about his patients than most doctors, without losing any professionalism. I would recommend him to anyone.

Very bad bedside manner..treats you like a fastfood customer get in get out not friendly at all
