Paul Itam II, MD, FACOG

I had Dr. Itam for my first pregnancy which had no issues and everything was great. Had that been my only experience I likely would be rating 4/5 stars. However, my second pregnancy ended up being ectopic and I am unfortunately unhappy with the way things were handled. I found out I was pregnant and immediately called the office due to bleeding and severe headaches. I was told by the nurse staff that I had to wait until 8 weeks for an appointment. I stopped bleeding but then began bleeding heavily again a couple weeks later when I was about 7 weeks pregnant. I was told to go get my hcg levels taken twice over the course of 3 days. At no point was I able to speak to the doctor. My second hcg blood test revealed a drop indicating a miscarriage or other issue, I called the office with the result and was told Dr. Itam was out of the office and someone would contact me in the next day or two. That night I woke up in severe pain and ended up in the ER. They did an ultrasound and… discovered I had an ectopic pregnancy and that my right tube had ruptured. I had two liters of blood drained from my abdomen and had to have my right tube removed. I did not hear from my Dr. until he called after the surgery. Another doctor from his office who was on call came by my hospital room. I felt like my concerns were not taken seriously, and had I been brought in earlier for an ultrasound or testing I may have avoided losing my tube. I decided to stick with Dr. Itam and ended up pregnant again a few months later. I ended up bleeding again and was obviously worried I was having another ectopic. Once again I felt like my concerns weren’t being taken seriously. I was sent for the hcg testing which revealed a drop and a miscarriage. I was scheduled for an early ultrasound the same day and had to call the office three times before I was able to get an answer about whether or not I should still go to the ultrasound. Eventually I did speak to Dr. Itam on the phone. About two weeks after my miscarriage I received a phone call from Kelsey seybold reminding me to schedule my pregnancy ultrasound…this was obviously very upsetting and unprofessional. I have decided to switch offices and at this point would not recommend Dr. Itam or the Kelsey seybold clinic for maternity purposes.

Dr. Itam is kind, a great listener, compassionate and knowledgeable. His bed side manner is fantastic! I recommend anyone in the market for an Ob/Gyn provider to see him. You leave feeling like you just saw a friend or someone that truly cares about your well being.

I’ve seen him for 5 yrs but will never step foot in his office ever again. After being treated rudely by the employee who took me to the room Dr Itam told me that my concerns regarding menopause were literally “nothing”!!! Since when are heart palpitations, hot flashes , blood pressure spikes and unexplained weight gain nothing??? He said these are simply signs of aging??!!!! This Dr has changed drastically in the last few years. The office staff consists of disgruntled unhappy employees who make you feel so uncomfortable considering how embarrassing an appointment like this can feel. Such a shame! His loss!!

Went in after not being treated by an OBGYN for close to 5 years. I was nervous because for the past 10 years, I have been dealing with excruciating pelvic pain that has taken a toll on me. After explaining to him what my situation was and that I wanted to find out if I had endometriosis due to my symptoms, he basically said that if he wrote down a list of symptoms and passed to every woman in the building, that half of them would check off those symptoms but that it did not mean that they had it. He ultimately made me feel like the excruciating pain I have been dealing with these past few years was absolutely unimportant. and that either I took birth control or I DEALT with the pain. As if I am not reaching out to a specialist for guidance as to how to better understand what is going on with my body. Overall, it was a bad personal experience. I understand he might be 5 star quality for some, but personally, 1 star is generous.

Its sad to see that there are other patients who also left the clinic crying. I was so upset by the interaction. Going to the doctor is already a daunting experience and having a rude condescending dr like him makes it hard to place any trust. He actually LAUGHED at my discomfort and that I forgot to take off my underwear. He told me I'd just have to deal with it when I discussed irregular periods and declined birth control for it. When I spoke about my vaginal issues, he actually said he had never heard of anything like that!! How have you never heard of those conditions as an OB. After the visit I changed my mind on the birth control after discussing with my mom, and he condescendly commented about my age. I remember crying so much after that , I didn't go to any OB GYN for a couple years.after that.

I have had nothing but the best experiences with Dr. Itam over the last 6 years and 2 pregnancies. He makes you feel incredibly comfortable, has a great bedside manner, and always makes you feel like you are more of a friend than a patient. My husband and I agreed that we'd switch insurance companies instead of finding a new OBGYN if it came down to it!

He was my dr for years and I thought he was fabulous until I needed him in the operating room. He removed things that we had discussed not removing. If that wasn’t bad enough, he didn’t even tell me and I had to find out 3 days later from the discharge nurse. I guess my body and decisions aren’t mine through his eyes. He’s very arrogant. He did what he thought was right and that wasn’t right. I will never see him again. Please learn from my story. No woman deserves to go through what he put me through.

Wow, sorry to see all these bad reviews but he is the best doctor we could have ever had. I love him, my two little boys came naturally thanks to him, first because he was on call and not in a hurry at all. Super sweet. 2nd by choice and now my OB for life! Even changed insurance to keep him as my doc!

I appreciate Dr. Itam's care and compassion for my specific case. He was thoughtful enough to know that I would need several visits and had the forethought to waive my copays. Very appreciative.

Negative Points, if possible. We were in the middle of our delivery, when he said " You are grown adults, but your baby could die" in regards to a forced C-Section, with no real explanation. He didn't give us the chance to think and we did not see why he forced the C-Section, other than the fact he was the on call doctor and it seemed like he wanted to get home. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone, even my worst enemy.
