Dr. Samuel W Kirtley, MD

Dr. Kirtley appears to always know what is best for his patient's regardless of patient's input or reviewing their previous records. He is not capable of a discuss with a patient when their opinion differs from his diagnosis. At this point he became curt and said to me "are we good" and bolted from the room. I would like to remind the health care team that I am a consumer also. As a consumer / patient I have been sick for six days. I have lost two days of work already. A course of antibiotics is not unreasonable with what my ailment is. I have now payed for an office visit and am no further ahead as before the visit. I was also informed that if it does not go away in a week I can come be seen again (pay for another visit) because at that point Dr. Kirtley will not call an antibiotic into a pharmacy. I would like Dr. Kirtley to know that I am no stranger to Healthcare. I have a BSN and have worked in the acute hospital settings of medical, surgical and ICU for quite a number of… years. He also should be aware that I do not get sick often but after giving myself ample time to get better I do seek medical attention. My expectation is that the physician will look into my EMR before seeing me to be familiar with my history and then Listen to what I am saying. That is a reasonable standard of care.

Dr. Kirtley is one of my favorite doctors! :)
