Dr. Lance is a specialist in Plastic Surgery and Craniofacial Surgery and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is an active member of both the American Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Association and the American College of Surgeons. He currently treats patients at the Baylor Scott and White Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Center in Temple and Waco and McLane Children's Hospital. He has been recognized as a leading plastic surgeon having received accolades from patient reviews and invitations to speak both nationally and internationally on topics of advanced surgery and innovative treatments. Dr Lance received his surgical training in Plastic Surgery from the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, followed by subspecialty training in Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego California. He went on to practice Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery at the University of California, San Diego, and Rady Children's …Hospital, also in San Diego, where he served as the Director of Adult Craniomaxillofacial Surgery and Medical Practice Chief of Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery. He currently serves as Section Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Baylor Scott & White and as a surgeon for McLane Children's Hospital Craniofacial, Cleft and Complex Vascular Anomalies teams. Dr. Lance's work has been recognized in multiple medical journals with over 40 peer reviewed publications and multiple invited book chapters and informational articles. He has received San Diego's "40 under 40" Professionals award three times and the Rady Children's Hospital "Roger Roux Quality Improvement Award" for leadership in advanced care. Dr. Lance grew up in North Texas and returned to Texas, joining Baylor Scott & White in 2022. He is active in the Central Texas community, extending outreach to our underserved populations through medical missions and facilitating low income access for pediatric care. He and his wife enjoy supporting the local arts through the ballet and symphony and spending time with their 2 young children and local church community. Absolutely phenomenal doctor, great bedside manner, cares about his patients and sees worth in everyone, is able to explain all options and clearly articulate what his recommendations are while listening to the family and being part of the child's team. He's also an amazingly talented surgeon who has crafted a beautiful face for my child.

Dr. Lance is extremely professional and thorough! I wish all doctor's treated their patients with such care. We took our daughter to him for possible breast reduction. He did a fantastic job with making her feel comfortable. He also asked very meaningful and insightful questions about her desire for the surgery. When our insurance company denied the surgery, he (and his staff) were terrific to talk with about our options. HIGHLY recommend!

I have been going to Dr.Samuel Lance for about 4 years so far. I wish I had been able to have him as my surgeon sooner. I had a cleft pallet when I was born and have had about 17 corrective surgeries. Lance has done the most recent ones. When I was 26 and searching for a new doctor to help correct some health and cosmetic problems from reversing of my cleft history, one of my past surgeons refered me to him. And I am so glad! He has done an outstanding job on perfecting and cleaning up the shape of my lip and nose and fixing my sleep apnea! He also just so sweet and personable. I highly recommend Dr. Lance. You will end happy you chose him.

Dr. Samuel Lance is a wonderful Rhinoplasty surgeon who always makes me feel that he really listens, really care, really know what he’s doing, and I trust him like no other doctor. He’s very kind, patient, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. He explained every little detail to me about the surgery. It has been 10 weeks and my nose is still changing daily and I already love the shape. I highly recommend him. I thank dr. Lance everyday in my heart because he changed my life for the better. Thank you for the wonderful care you have given and still providing.
