I waited 1 1/2 hours to be seen . The doctor was answering cell phone messages during my appt. Interrupted 4 times from nurse for other patients . Will not be back .

A wonderful doctor, but once he's fixed you, he turns you over to other people and you never see him again. Last time I was there he had some new staff - a female PA, very nice and helpful and a male assistant, upbeat and kind. Before that there was a woman nurse who sounds sweet but acted like a viper and a PA who treated me as though was senile.

Dr. Lau knows his specialty through and through. In addition, he is highly recommended by other "great" doctors in the area!

Went into McKenzie-Willamette Hospital to have my gallbladder pulled out. A concern was raised about my momentary low pulse so surgery was cancelled for a cardio consultation. The new Chief of Staff referred me to Dr. Lau for the consultation. Dr. Lau scheduled me for pacemaker surgery without seeing me or performing any testing. I asked about a consultation and was told he would see me immediately prior to the surgery. I went for a second opinion to a cardiologist who actually examined me, who placed me on a Houlter moniter for 24 hours, and gave me a treadmill test. The second cardio concluded that I had an athletes heart, and even thou the monitor showed my pulse down to 41 beats per minute, I was not a pacemaker candidate. I called Lau's office to cancel the pacemaker surgery telling them I was not going to have it without a reason. They said let us check the record, they then said - oh - we do not yet have your records. they then called me back and said I need the… pacemaker because I had a low heart rate. Wrong!

Had pacemaker surgery as McKenzie Willamette almost 1 year ago and still having issues with the surgery site. There is the belief he did not place the pacemaker correctly and may need another surgery to correct the issue. McKenzie Willamette is a horrible hospital to work with. Their nurses were great, but the billing office is horrendous. Had to pay 20% prior to surgery even with insurance. Overcharged $3000 prior to surgery and they refused to return so I had to dispute on my credit card. Their comment was you will owe on other procedures. There is an insurance agreement between them and they refused to honor the agreement. Do Not use this hospital. I will find a new cardio to do my followup care and use the other hospital in the area.
