Samuel Marvin Riddle III, MD

I had not had an exam in several years and has been experiencing some problems, so I called Sumter OBGYN for an appointment. Dr. Riddle had the next available, so I took it. He did not listen to or address my concerns and was quote patronizing. He spent more time lecturing me on "healthy carbs" and how diabetes is caused by unhealthy diets and diets and carbohydrates. I am TYPE I DIABETIC! This is an autoimmune disease that is not preventable, has no cure, and requires carbohydrates as part of the daily diet. Needless to say, I still have the problems and unanswered questions that i went in with. He should retire if he isn't going to listen to the patient, they know their own body best!

He refused to believe me that I had 4 Intestinal surgeries. I had to show him the scars on my abdomen during the OB visit for him to take me serious about the pain during my pregnancy. I saw him once and told the staff I will never see him again. They said I didn't get to choose the doctor that was on call during delivery. I told them I'll hold the kid in until a different doctor is on duty.
