Dr. Samuel Thomas Robertson III, MD

Dr. Robertson is an amazing psychiatrist. Truly a gem. At the time we found Dr Robertson,our child was lost to anxiety, disordered moods and substance abuse. The chaos and despair in our lives was restored in a matter of months through Dr. Robertson’s gentle and caring, yet disciplined intensive outpatient approach. We were discharged from children’s hospital over a weekend directly to his care. He intently worked to understand and help our son stabilize and recover while at the same time helping us utilize new parenting skills to establish new healthy patterns of behavior. He did not seek to change any of his current medications, but rather focused on using psychoanalysis to teach our son calming behaviors and improved self worth. He has an unexplainable ability to reach the core of my son which settles him after each session. He is extremely dedicated to his patients and their families and I am grateful to have found him.

My wife and I were referred to Dr. Robertson by a friend when our 15 year old son was being discharged after a hospitalization for a combination of depression/anxiety, substance abuse, and anger management issues. My wife literally called Dr. Robertson from the hospital, and he agreed to meet our son that evening. Our son has been working with Dr. Robertson for 6 months now and has made tremendous progress. With Dr. Robertson's gentle guidance, our son has learned to manage his angry outbursts and is now leading a life of sobriety. Our son describes him as a "genius." He continues to be amazed at how a seasoned psychiatrist is able to connect with an adolescent young man. We will be working with our son on his mental health for many years to come, but with Dr. Robertson's help we have built a foundation on which to perform that work. We will forever be indebted to Dr. Robertson for helping us to get both our son and our home back.
