Dr. Samuel F Romero-Ramos, MD

MY MOTHER' S PRIMARY DR. IS RETIRING SO SHE NEEDED A PRIMARY DR. AND CALLED THIS ROMERO OFFICE AND WAS GIVEN THE ROUND AROUND FOR LIKE 3 WEEKS. THE GUY WHO ANSWERED SAID THEY WOULD TAKE HER INSURANCE AND THAT HE WOULD CALL BACK TO LET HER KNOW IF THE DR. WOULD TAKE HER AS A NEW PATIENT. WELL THEY NEVER CALLED BACK AND MY MOTHER KEPT CALLING THEM AND WOULD EITHER GET A MESSAGE SAYING TO CALL DURING WORKING HOURS (WHICH SHE WAS) OR SHE WAS PUT ON HOLD AND LEFT THERE AND NO ONE CAME BACK TO CHECK ON HER (SHE WOULD WAIT 20 MTS), AFTER CALLING BACK SO MANY TIMES AND NO ONE ANSWERING FOR LIKE 3 WEEKS FINALLY ONE DAY THIS SAME GUY ANSWERED JUST TO TELL HER THAT THEY WEREN'T TAKING HER INSURANCE COULDN'T HE/THEY HAVE TOLD HER THIS RIGHT AWAY? AND WHAT'S UP WITH THIS OFFICE NOT ANSWERING CALLS AND JUST LEAVING THE ANSWERING MACHINE ON DURING WORKING HOURS? SO UNETHICAL, UNPROFESSIONAL, OBVIOUSLY THIS WANNA BE DR./STAFF DOESN'T NEED PATIENTS OR HE/THEY THINK THEY'RE GOING TO PROVIDE THE… SERVICE FOR FREE, LIKE IF WE/PATIENTS ARE ASKING THEM FOR A FAVOR?? PLEASE!

I agree that Dr. Romero is a good doctor, but the wait time at the office is long. His staff is courteous, but at times they have to cover up for him because the wait time is long. He tends to be condascending and very rude at times. He is arrogant and does not care about how hard it is to accommodate repeated doctor visits for elderly parents to his schedule. It seems like he thinks that the livelyhood, emotional state, and concern of caregivers such as daughters, are not as important as his. He sent out a very condescending, innappropriate letter to all patients. I keep on taking my mom there because I have no choice. It would really be hard to move her to another doctor. I just dont think it should be so stressful to see her doctor on top of the stress ofbeing in the "sandwich" generation. Some of us have to care for elderly parents, kids, and grandkids...
