Samuel Schueler, MD

Samuel A. Schueler, MD is a Gastroenterologist and an Assistant Professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. Dr. Schueler received his Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a major in biology and a minor in nutritional sciences. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University, where he was elected into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, served as student government president and won the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence and the American Medical Association (AMA) Foundation Leadership Excellence in Medicine Leadership award. He completed internal medicine residency at Boston Medical Center, where he received the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award from the medical students. He then served as Chief Medical Resident at Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the …University of Maryland and National Institutes of Health combined Clinical Scholars Program, where his research was largely focused on rare genetic diseases predisposing patients to gastrointestinal cancers. His clinical practice is in general gastroenterology and hepatology. His research focuses on gastrointestinal malignant and pre-malignant conditions, and disorders of the esophagus, stomach, small bowel and colon. He has published numerous articles and abstracts and has presented at national conferences. He is a member of several national gastroenterology societies.
