Dr. Samuel Rayburn Watkins, MD

Stay away from this doctor at all costs. Went to First Urology, not just for a suspected UTI, but because I get them so frequently. I had all the typical symptoms and wanted to know why I have them about twice every month. After giving a urine sample, he came in without even greeting me, and told me there was nothing in my urine to indicate a UTI. Confused, I explained to him my symptoms and asked what they could be caused by. He seemed annoyed, and told me they could use a catheter to pull urine from my bladder if I was so sure. I’m at my wit’s end here, so I agreed to it and he left the room without another word. After the catheter, he returned and said I absolutely did not have a UTI. I asked why I was having so much pain urinating, not being able to control my bladder, and why there was blood in my urine. He told me I was confusing my symptoms with vaginal pain, “something women do all the time.” He then escorted me out of my room and told me he’d see me again in a month. FOR… WHAT? 2 weeks later, I receive a call from First Urology, telling me they are prescribing me Augmentin because, surprise, it was a raging UTI. The next day, I wound up in the emergency room in severe pain because it had spread to my kidneys. Do not see this doctor for any reason.

Physician has no bedside manner. Took three weeks to schedule a biopsy. When he came into room to do biopsy, he said nothing. Not even a "good afternoon". Did not say anything until procedure was over and my husband spoke to him. And even that was a brief hello. Too many delays... took 3 weeks for them to schedule a biospy. Repeated rescheduling of appointments. Very upsetting when you have a cancer diagnosis. I am so disappointed and distressed of the care given and hope no one else has to suffer.

I was referred to this place because my Dr. said they saw blood in my pee. I've been to the office twice and 2 months later. I've never recieved any results. Now they're trying to get me back a 3rd time to do another procedure. I've called 3 times trying to find out why I paid 1-2 thousand dollars and can't get my results. Dr. Watkins wont' call me back. This place will milk you for all your money and get terrible service. Stay away!!

I was very disappointed and concerned by Dr. Watkins poor bedside manner. As a patient, I need to know that my doctor genuinely cares about me. Especially when the doctor is going over test results that I have worried about for over a week. To be treated matter-of-factly was hurtful and an outrage. I would have also appreciated a report of what we discussed as well as any test results. This is common practice in other physician offices.
