Does not approve refills for my depression meds in a timely manner, so I run out of meds and have nothing for 3-4 days which makes me go through withdrawals.

Psychiatry is almost a joke to begin with. She is always on her laptop typing notes and smiling up every once in a while like she is being fake to her clients. I don't want to use the term patient because they do not follow up with how you are doing on the meds they push at you at all. If you're having a reaction to one of their pushed medications they tell you to go to the hospital. Visits are about 10-20 mins at most and shes taking in money from my insurance, not to mention the copay. for that short amount of time. I get that they're "medical professionals" but I know a fair bit of pharmacology just from my own research and she doesn't explain the medication in those terms. Antidepressants are pushed like candy and they let you pick which one you wanna try. There are many studies out there that come to the conclusion that many of these medications are no more effective than a placebo effect. Meaning, we take a pill that we think is supposed to help with our debilitating condition… (like anxiety or depression) and it may work simply because we believe in the medication. But the medications that they wont prescribe more than once or twice for example like valium which are VERY effective for anxiety. Yes, they have potential for abuse and people can black out, but for the rest of us just needing them as needed we are looked at like we are a drug addict when we just want to continue something that works. Our bodies acclimate to the drugs we take and so yes sometimes the dose needs to be increased. They do that with antidepressants. If you feel your dose isn't helping they have no problem upping the dose. There are withdrawls from drugs like valium but because of its long half-life it can be safely tapered under the doctors supervision when someone decides they want to go off. Its the same thing with the antideprressants they hand out like candy. There are withdrawls that are very debilitating just like valium. And theyre not really even that more effective than placebo. And they have side effects like sexual disfunction, naseau, diarrhea, vomitting, fatigue, serotonin syndrome to name of few... But they have no problem prescribe these "medications," upping the dose whenever you want to when frankly theres more harm that comes from those medications (antidepressants).She wants to help your issue but doing it for what seems like pure monetary gain with little regard to the patient's actual well being. Im sure she is a wonderful human being outside of her job, but find someone else who will take the time to listen, care, and not push drugs on you that don't work.

I went to see this Quijada for help and instead I got more stress being her patient. When I went to see her, they put me in a nice room, after a minute her reception bring a service dog with out asking me if I was okay to have a pet near me, thank god I wasn’t allergic with dog but poor for other patients that might be. Than she comes in and shakes my hand, sits down and start using her laptop. The way she was towards me didn’t felt comfortable, she seem like she was rushing me, wasn’t fully listening to me, was cutting me off every time I talk to her. I was with her for about 10-15 minute. She told me to go to my pharmacy and tell them I need to fill a prescription with out her prescription and told me to tell them to call her, which was weird. I did what she told me , the pharmacist look at me confused and I told her I am too. Than she told me she was gonna call her and see what’s going on. I call the pharmacist the next day and told me that she hasn’t reached out to them. I call… her office and send me to an answer machine which specifically says it will return your call within 24 hours. That’s a lie. Oh by the way they need a 24 BUSINESS hours in advance if you plan to cancel your appointment or else you will pay a 100 cancellation fee. They for sure want you to understand that, but if you need them you will have to wait. I’ve called 8 times to reached them and no answer. Oh and she does ask for your copay in person, and doesn’t give you a receipt. I’m looking for someone else. She ain’t worth your time or you hard working money.

She is a wonderful therapist and Dr actually. She listened to you and very quick in doing referrals to other agency specific for your needs, he treat you holistic Individual like she recommended her brother for my back problem and he did an amazing job too.

I have very much appreciated Dr. Quijadas view point and current understanding of the new drugs. She takes an approach that made me feel very comfortable and trusting that I was in good hands when starting medication for the first time. I trust her.

I want to withhold my name for privacy but I have been seeing doctors for 20 yrs starting 13 yrs ago in NYC and she has been the best doctor I have seen. She is sensitive and listens. Isn't quick to push medications she listens to our feeling bugs about medications and makes gradual adjustments. I wish I could still see her, unfortunatly my employer switched to Kaiser.

Not the psychiatric care I was hoping for. No cognitive therapy. I was just herded into the office, asked if I wanted to hurt myself or others, confirmed medicine dosage, then herded out. Bam!

Doctor Sana Johnson-Quijada is a very nice lady, she cares about her patients and their well being. Dr. Quijada always has a smile on her face, she is up beat and always has a positive attitude and demeanor! She has excellent bedside manners and sets your mind at ease. She truly listens with an open heart and gives an accurate diagnosis. Dr. Quijada spends time to get to know her patients. I've been going to see her for about 2 1/2 years and I truly trust her as a Doctor. When ever I needed an appointment the staff always found a way to make that happen, even when it was last minute. The staff is wonderful and courteous and I do get a phone call for follow ups after visits. Dr. quijada truly loves the work she does, she spends a lot of time researching and doing research that bests fits each clients needs. I recommend her and trust 100%.

She was extremely rude and pushy. Only listened to my fathers warped opinion of my mental illness and didn't let me say a thing about MY mental illness. It was very uncomfortable talking to her and I will definitely never go back to her ever again.
