Dr. Sana Shoaib Meah, DO

My endocrinologist moved out of town and I took the first available replacement. She is clueless, lacks empathy and ignorant when it comes to medicine. A disgrace to the profession.

Dr. Meah has helped me and my diabetes journey tremendously. Thanks to her guidance & care, I have my numbers well under control. She has been patient, caring and has helped manage my diabetes around additional chronic illness I'm dealing with. Now that I have found her, I would drive to the ends of the earth to keep her. Her follow up and check ins are invaluable.

Saw her once, extremely rude. She couldn't be bothered to listen to me. I would never go back to her again.

I saw Dr. Meah Dec 2019. This doctor was very condescending and I almost felt as though she was categorizing me by race. She stated that I may have a condition from drinking too much, which I barely drink and she stated something to the effect that implied that because I am of Latin descent that it is normal. When my test results came in, it proved my point about not drinking and she didn’t have the nerve or courtesy to apologize for presumptuously assuming what my condition may or may not be based on race. If I could give negative stars I would. Some people should just not have jobs/careers where they have to deal with the public especially when you have atrocious bedside manner. Dr. Meah, learn from this. You deal with people’s health. They come to you anxious and nervous that they may have a condition which could affect their entire lives, you making an UNEDUCATED assumption on other conditions is absolutely absurd, inconsiderate and flat out ignorant. If you have demons about… certain races mine being one, do everyone a favor and leave the profession and don’t look back. Nobody will miss that type of person. Its unnecessary and uncalled for. Needless to say, I shan’t be seeing Dr.Meah going forward. I decided to switch doctors and go to the main hospital on St.Clair in the city where they treat people with respect and dignity and not treat patients condescendingly.

I drive 60 miles from Indiana to see Dr. meah at her new location. She is one person who got my diabetes controlled.

Do yourself a favor and find ANY endocrinologist but her! Rude, condescending, belittling, and all around awful. Made me cry and rolled her eyes when we asked questions. No wonder her ratings are so low and she hasn’t been with any practice longer than a year. Shame on her. Grow up and learn how to deal with patients of ALL kinds.

Front desk workers are totally rude. My obgyn referred me for gestational diabetes, sent over my paperwork and told me they'd call me. A week later they still hadn't called, so I had to get the number from my ob's office and call them. Central scheduling was shocked that no one had called me from their office. I get to the appointment and the ladies at the front desk were both arguing with patients on the phone and acted like they didn't see me walk in. Saw Dr. Meah and her nurse - they were great. Back out to the front office to schedule a 6 month follow up and a meeting with the dietician. They scheduled me with a guy who doesn't actually see patients because otherwise I'd be seeing a dietician about 4 weeks away from my due date, no point in that. So he personally calls me 2 days before my appointment to cancel. I still get an automated call trying to confirm my appointment later that afternoon. I call the next morning (because I was at work getting all of these phone calls and they… were closed when by the time I got off) to tell them I got cancelled on. The office lady interrupts me while I'm trying to explain what happened, claims she called me twice earlier this week but my voicemail box was full - I had NO missed calls from them, and then acts like it's my fault that I scheduled an appointment with this guy who doesn't see patients. I explained to her that I was scheduled to see him because the other dieticians were booked until 4 weeks before my due date and it was pointless to wait so long to see them. She interrupts me AGAIN and says (in a snotty tone) "well, we could've gotten you in earlier this week if we could've gotten a hold of you". Obviously not since they originally told me it'd be really far out to get me in. So now I'm rescheduled for 4 weeks before my due date. My blood sugars have been perfect and I've been eating a 95% clean diet, low carb, no sugar. I don't even need this appointment. I may cancel, but then I'd have to deal with them again....
