He is the worst doctor ever. He has no sympathy for his patients. Someone I know had attempted suicide and then was sent to the crisis center and he called them stupid for attempting suicide. I have no idea how he is still a doctor based on my review and all the other reviews I have seen.

Dr Roy had been my doctor since 1988. As far as doctors go he is the biggest jerk you will ever meet. He enjoys belittling his mentally ill clients. He makes cruel, condescending remarks and then laughs and laughs to himself. He doesn't connect with his patients in any way. He is an arrongant narcissist and treats his patients like objects for his amusement. A few years ago, while I was still seeing Dr Roy, my mother told me that in 1988 when I developed schizophrenia Dr Roy accused her of being a schizophrenogenic mother. Back in the 1960's and 1970's the schizophrenogenic mother theory claimed that the mother's treatment or interaction with the child could cause schizophrenia. This theory had been disproven since the late 1970's. As you can imagine Dr Roys accusation crushed my mother! This was not a small little mistake. To negligently accuse the parent of a mentally ill child of causing the illness is a heinous act! It seems likely to me that in the 1980's this was… standard practice for Dr Roy and that he accused many women of being schizophrenogenic mothers. I do know that at some point in time he was made aware of his mistake. You would think at this point that Dr Roy would contact these mothers and apologize. He could tell them that he was wrong. He did not! Instead he let my mom believe for decades that she was the cause of my mental illness! He never contacted her. He never apologized. I'm sure he didn't want to admit his mistake. So he let these women suffer an unimaginable guilt rather than admit that he was wrong! This is an arrogant man with no character! He is a coward! This is a doctor who doesn't know what he is doing!

Dr Roy had been my psychiatrist since 1988. Over the years his bedside manner was tolerable but never good. In recent years it has deteriorated so much that I recently switched to another psychiatrist. At the time of this writing he is about 76 years of age. Dr Roy is aloof, arrogant and condescending with his patients. He makes belittling, sarcastic, condescending, cruel remarks at their expense. He thinks it is funny! Recently he sarcastically called me a genius. He thought that was so hilarious that he couldn't stop laughing. In another session I stumbled over the words, statistically significant. He told me I shouldn't concern myself with complicated things. In a session I had with him about 2 years ago I was telling him about an activity I did with a friend. He looked at me and laughed and said, "You have a friend?" This type of behavior, which he has exhibited for as long as I've known him, is characteristic of someone with narcissistic personality disorder. He treats his… mentally ill patients like they are objects for his amusement. This psychiatrist is a jerk. If you read Dr Roy's reviews on this and other websites you'll encounter a few positive reviews from people who were seriously mentally ill. Dr Roy does like to play the roll of savior. It is easy for him to connect with these individuals because he receives a huge narcissistic reward by doing so. It reinforces his view of himself as a intellectually superior, benevolent and powerful person. However the majority of his reviews are very negative. Here are some of the words used to describe him: arrogant, condescending, angy, rude, mean, ridiculous, negative, cruel and surly. This is the way he treats his patients if he is not receiving some type narcissistic reward from the interaction. Keep in mind that Dr Roy was raised as a member of the Brahmin caste in India. This is the highest social class. Brahmins were treated as superior and expected to be treated as superior. Not only is he arrogant and condescending but over the years his reactions to my serious mental health issues were highly inappropriate and insulting! In my last and final visit with him I told him about a serious delusion that had plagued me for several years. During my explanation of the delusion Dr Roy laughed continuously - so much so that I decided to go no further. The final straw for me was my Mother's recent revelation as to how Dr Roy treated her back in 1988. That was the year I developed schizophrenia and started seeing him at the UNL Health Center. My Mother told me that he accused her of causing my schizophrenia. He said that she was a schizophrenogenic mother. Back in the 1960's and early 1970's the schizophrenogenic mother theory claimed that the mothers treatment or interaction with the child could cause schizophrenia. This theory had been dead since the late 1970's. This was not a small little mistake. To negligently accuse the parent or parents of a mentally ill child of causing the illness is a heinous act! Online it says that Dr Roy has practiced as a psychiatrist for 46 years - roughly since 1975. It seems likely to me that this was standard practice for him with respect to some of the parents of his schizophrenic clients. Did he continue with this after 1988? He hurt my mother terribly and never apologized. In the recent election there was alot of talk of Donald Trump not being fit to be president because of his temperment. I'm not going to weigh in on that issue but it baffles me as to why someone with Dr Roy's personnality would become a psychiatrist. He does not connect with his patients in any way. After a session with Dr Roy you feel worse about yourself than before the session. However, an arrogant narcissist like Dr Roy could make a fine showing as a cruel third world dictator. Maybe he should give that a try.

This guy has to be one of most arrogant people I've ever met. I am actually very sorry for his future patients, as he has cruel, condescending tendencies.

Ridiculous manner for handling patients. Rude, surly, negative and archaic. Baffling that he is a top paid county employee. Entirely too old and out of touch with modern, HUMANE, practice.

Good listener, thorough diagnostician. hard worker, especially helpful to those with multiple diagnoses.

This guy has a mean sreak in him. Instead of him admitting his shortcomings, he gets defensive and slanders me to the entire mental health center just to be mean to me. His diagnosis is absurd, he knows he's full of it but he doesn't want to admit it. My entire file is one big book of lies.

Very good listener ane empathetic to what I was going through without making me feel like I did something to cause my condition. I would highly recommend.
