Hi, my name is Sandra, and I'm a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner serving clients in Arizona. I specialize in depression, insomnia & sleep issues, bipolar disorder, life transitions, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder/trauma, ADHD, burnout, life coaching, college & graduate student mental health, loss, grief, and bereavement, relationship issues, sexual health & dysfunction, seasonal affective disorder (SAD), sleep disorders, stress management, and women’s issues. I’ve been in nursing for over 20 years and completed my master’s and psychiatric training at Walden University. I’m passionate about destigmatizing mental healthcare, and together with my colleagues at Lavender Psychiatry, I’m on a mission to create a world where feelings are felt, respected, and cared for.

I chose to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner because I am deeply committed to promoting mental wellness and addressing the complex intersection between mind and body. Throughout my mental health and nursing career, I witnessed the profound impact that mental health has on every aspect of a person’s life — and how often it is overlooked or stigmatized. I wanted to be in a position where I could not only listen to people’s stories, but also provide comprehensive, evidence-based care that includes both psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. Becoming a PMHNP enables me to combine my passion for holistic, compassionate care with the science of neuropsychology and psychiatric medicine, helping individuals achieve balance, healing, and hope.

My practice is inclusive and welcoming, embracing diversity in culture, background, and experience. I have worked with a wide range of clients, including students, parents, professionals from various fields, skilled tradespeople, service industry workers, retail employees, entrepreneurs, artists, and technology experts. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space where each individual feels heard, understood, and empowered to achieve their therapeutic goals. Starting treatment can be a scary and intimidating process. I’ve successfully treated many people who are new to psychiatric care.
