Dr. Sandra Paniagua, MD

I felt dismissed and judged during our visit when discussing a delayed vaccine schedule. I’m open to medical guidance, but I need conversations to be respectful. That experience made me uncomfortable as she turned it into some weird political stance. Stay far away from this doctor.

I have never had such a terrible experience with a physician in my life. She spoke to me as if I had no common sense, made me feel like my concerns about my daughter aren’t valid, and then tried to say my daughter suffers from anxiety because “she read it in her chart”, yet when I asked her to validate that information she couldn’t locate it. I took my daughter in for valid concerns, and left feeling like my time was wasted. I do not recommend Sandra to anyone seeking true medical care for their children.

I went in for a simple sports physical release form. Simple form that required her to fill in my son's weight, height, vision, hearing, blood pressure, allergies, etc. nothing too complicated. She was very quick to dismiss me because I didn't bring my son's immunization card. I explained to her that form is not requesting immunization, she responded with "well I am NOT putting my name on that form." At this point I realized that it was pointless to continue the conversation since she started talking as if I was an idiot. She wanted to do blood work and labs, and I tried to tell her that we just simply made an appointment for the form to get filled out, NOT for a full scope physical. At this point I politely asked for another doctor because her definition of a "sports physical" is way different than mine. She then read the form to me emphasizing almost every word especially the word "safely" which in the form it read "the patient can safely participate in physical activities." Again, I… requested another doctor and if possible the head doctor in charge of her, she came back 10 minutes later to tell me that the one of the hospital administrators will be coming to see me to "explain" to me the form. I told her that I didn't need anyone to explain to me the simple form that I've read and printed myself, I requested another doctor not an administrator. At this point I left it was a waste of 2 months of getting an appointment and will be leaving Kaiser come this November. This was the last straw for Kaiser and this doctor made my decision even more clearer.

I do have to say she is great with the kids, but was not very nice to me when I told her I would not get the flu shot or give it to my kids, proceeded to tell me how sad it makes her to hear about moms that wont give their kids the flu shot, and how people die and so on. Then I told her I only wanted my 3month old with DS and my 2 year old to only get 2 shots at a time, and that i wanted to follow an alternative immunization schedule, "trying to follow the Dr Sears Schedule" and she flat out would not help me choose which shots to give them, made me pick even though she knew that i could not know what was what. She made me feel like a horrible mother for not following the norm. I called kaiser and changed my pediatrician as soon as I got home. With my DS child she has nothing but bad news to "warn" me about, I never feel good leaving there, I get this awful feeling when I leave there. 2 horrible visits, I wish I had never had to go through.

My daughter has been having horrible migraines that semi paralyze her and Dr. Paniagua's diagonises was depression when my daughters psychologist told us that wasn't true. This doctor wanted to push my daughter into pills for depression she didn't even need because of her lack of "investiagation". My daughter could have something more severe but she doesn't want to do anymore tests because she is so convenced its depression. As far as I know you can not measure depression and her answer is inaccurate since she isn't a physchologist. Just stay away from her.

Wonderful bedside manner, very sweet and interactive with baby. Discouraged Breastfeeding at 8wk apt, lied/ignorant(?) about basic biology multiple times in the same visit, and insisted I needed my infant on Two prescriptions, then Refused ( yes flat out refused, I asked!), the diagnostic blood test to determine if there was a medical indication for either prescription. Great personality, really disappointed she came highly recommended.

Dr. Paniagua is a GREAT doctor. She treats both of my children and the absolutely love her. Her nickname, "The Baby Whisperer" is well deserved.

my baby LOVESS Dr. Paniagua. My daughter still freaks out, but not as much as with other Dr's she's seen. Dr. Paniagua has a nurturing nature to her and is very patient and caring.
