Dr. Sanford Robert Pepper, MD

I have literally never written a review of doctor before. I am compelled to write this one. Dr. Pepper was SO bizarrely hostile I actually hung up the FaceTime call after about 5 mins (our first session). I felt attacked and was very shaken. Upon giving him my background/history (which is simply mild pandemic-related depression/anxiety looking for a lexapro adjustment) I had nervously, with a friendly smile on my face, asked him "does that make sense, you look a little confused" because I knew I had been talking fast as I dislike talking about my self and though maybe I had been unclear. He immediately got hostile and started aggressively saying "Im not confused. Are YOU confused? You can't remember the date you started that drug or your lab test results (I was trying to relay details of another RX history that goes back approx. 10 years) so by definition YOU'RE the one confused." I told him I was not confused I simply could not remember those exact details; he then said "Well if… you can't remember something what do you call that? I call that confused." I was completely taken aback. I apologized and tried to explain that I think he misunderstood me and I didn't mean my comment to sound accusatory in any way; he simply continued speaking in very agitated tone to say "well I am very direct and take it very seriously when some suggests I am confused" at which point I said "this is not a good fit, I feel you are being hostile with me and I'm ending this call."

I was in Dr. Pepper's care for several years with acute clinical depression until Prozac was finally accepted here in the US. I am happy to say that with his guidance and questioning I finally overcame my suicidal ideation and was able to return to work. Many light bulbs were lit and epiphanies brought to light during those years of psychotherapy.

The worst Doctor. Stay away! He lacks compassion. He is very angry and argumentative. His facial expressions are very offensive. He fills the room with his toxicity and negative energy. Dr. Standford Pepper will Tell you that you need to communicate better when its him that needs to learn to communicate compassionately. His bedside manner does not exist!He seems to be totally burnt out. He's a sad case for a doctor. Again Stay Away!
