Dr. Sanford Shilling Sherman, MD

After reading several reviews I was apprehensive about my appointment yesterday but Dr Sherman was delightful! He seemed very thorough and interested in all we had to report, asked great questions and provided a new perspective on one of my husband’s issues. He wasn’t at all arrogant or rushing us or anything but professional and reassuring.

Was very rude and condescending. If you want an understanding approach from a Dr. he is not the one. Not sure how good of a Dr. he is as far as medically but his bedside manner had me in tears and I left the room in tears.

Poor! Does not listen to all symptoms - just seems to do regular tests and that's it. Does not read charts for history before talking to you. Dr. came in to room while I was helping my Mom change. He did not care, he said we were running late!

We were five minutes late and the receptionist said he could not see us we would have to reschedule I had both my parents with me 81 and 86 and myself who does not walk well unwilling to go back and check with the doctor just said we had to reschedule. We were late because the other staff in Lake Barrington gave us the wrong address 1700 something which was the old address so it was there reason we were late and they still would not bend.

I found that Dr. Sherman was courteous and friendly. He was very prompt and respected my time. He took the time to explain my diagnosis, and the rationale for the tests that he wanted to order and his treatment plan.

I went to Dr Sherman because I thought the medication I take for a condition caused by a head injury may need to be adjusted. Without having any of my records he decided that I was imagining everything and needed psychological help. I had to switch to a neurologist at Rush University that determined why my symptoms were getting worse and adjusted my medication. He doesn't know what he's doing. I went to him for help but he obviously doesn't care if he actually helps anyone.

Horrible doctor worst experience ever he treats you like you work for him all he cares about is getting an appointment with you and insurance money.

He has a horrible beside manner, always in a hurry, very arrogant, and he wasn't even prepared for my appointment. He hadn't reviewed my test results and brushed off my questions. He had no answers or treatment suggestions - just told me to book another appointment in couple months time. And he made a nasty joke about my physical appearance. He is one of the worst doctors I've seen!

Acts like he doesn't have time to spend to review your case. Always in a hurry. No follow up and review. Could use some manners.I can say this as I went had the same exact tests done at another location with another Dr. months later.. way more time spent, review of procedure and process of test, & way better bedside manner. Night and day comparison.Office.. takes forever to get to a real person to make an appointment. Voice messages are impossible to get through and you cannot reach anyone after business hours or on weekends.
