Dr. Sanjay Garg, MD

Very unorganized front office, hard to make an appointment, slow response to medical side effects from medical assistants, they do not communicate with patients effectively in all aspects.

I was referred by my primary doctor early this year as I was extremely sick for several months and the medicine I was taking was not helping and I was getting rapidly worse to the point I could barely function. Dr. Garg basically knew how to take care of me in a matter of seconds. He made drastic changes and in a matter of two days, I was feeling much better. On my initial visit he spent close to 30 minutes explaining my problem, how he was going to manage it, and the process I was going to need to go through with him. He ran so many tests on me and sent me to additional specialists to make sure we were on the right path. Even though I feel so much better, I have a condition that is not easily manageable and therefore I have gone in many times this past year so I see how is practice runs on a consistent basis. As far as the wait time, I can say Dr. Garg runs impeccably on time. I have never waited more than 10 minutes past my appointment time to have my vitals taken. The office… is super clean. The staff and front desk are very caring and his office manager will work her magic to get you in if you are really sick. Dr. Garg is very humble. You can sense he cares about his staff and all of his patients. When I sit in the waiting area, everyone talks about how they will not see anyone else for their rheumatology problems. He has X-ray equipment, ultrasound equipment, and areas where those who need shots can go in private. He also has an onsite blood lab which is so convenient for those of us who have to give a lot of blood. Finally, Dr. Garg does a great job of communicating with my primary doctor. I have seen him pick up the phone while I was in the room and discuss with my primary doctor how to handle my problems. When I see my primary doctor, he always says he has received Dr. Garg's written analysis. I don't normally write reviews, but if it wasn't for Dr. Garg, I probably would not be here today. The least I can do is let you know he will treat you like family and do his best to help you too.

Over a month trying to get an appointment, they would not give me an appointment without a referral and then the RECEPTIONIST denies it????? They are rude to patients and other colleagues calling in to refer someone. I am not sure how good this doctor is but he needs to replace and change management before all his patients go elsewhere!

Dr. Garg is wonderful! He is extremely knowledgeable of various types of connective tissue diseases, and more. He trained under Dr. Rice at Duke, which I thought was great because I was a former patient of his prior to his retirement. His beautiful new "high-tech" clinic, that he also shares with his wife who is an Internal Medical doctor, is located on John Smith road in Hope Mills. They have the ability to do labs, x-rays and more at that facility, so it's really convenient. He takes his time to talk with you to find out if new medications are working, and if not, he tries extremely hard to find another that will be benefit you. I appreciate the fact that he will not be rushed in diagnosing your illness, and finding a suitable drug for your condition. I highly recommend Dr. Garg for a Rheumatologist to anyone who suffers daily in pain.
