Dr. Sanjay Kumar Jain, MD

Sanjay K. Jain, MD joined the North Shore-LIJ Health System in 2007 and is an attending physician in the Division of EEG & Epilepsy. He has a private practice dedicated to the evaluation and care of epilepsy patients. Dr. Jain's work involves planning and implementing the most effective care options available, including the evaluation of patients to determine if they are candidates for epilepsy surgery.
Dr. Jain completed his residency training in Neurology at the LIJ Medical Center and his fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He established a private practice in Brooklyn where he was affiliated with Long Island College Hospital, New York Methodist Hospital, and The Brooklyn Hospital Center. Dr. Jain was appointed Director of Clinical Neurophysiology and eventually became Chairman of the Department of Neurology at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. Dr. Jain was an active member of the Medical Board and Professional Staff of The Brooklyn Hospital and of the Medical Society of the County of Kings, where he was President and a Trustee. He held executive committee roles in the Medical Society of the State of New York and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Jain is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (in the specialty of Neurology and subspecialty of Clinical Neurophysiology) and of the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is an avid teacher and has held academic appointments as Clinical Associate Professor at New York University Medical Center and Cornell University/New York Presbyterian Health System.
