Dr. Sanjay K. Nigam, MD

This place is awful. I had been a patient for three years. Routine problems getting my medications. Terrible front desk staff. Impossible to get on the phone. After my insurance changed, I needed my medications to be sent to a new pharmacy. Apparently, this was an unreasonable request. After calling more than five times, and messaging through the patient portal back and forth, the office refused to make an update or send anything and quit communicating back to me. I went more than 2 months without my medications, some of which have significant withdrawals. When I finally got an appointment with Dr. Nigam to express my concerns with this simple request, quite politely I will add, he immediately dismissed me and told me to find a new doctor. What? Really? Thanks for the help, doc. I’m now on the hunt for a real doc. Beware.

Dr. Nigam is very professional and listens to his patients. In general most psychiatrists are there to assess patients and whether medications are necessary, and adjusted as needed. Actual routine counseling is done separately, arranged by you, as needed. Even so, Dr. Nigam asks questions, actually listens to your answers, follows up with you, and works with you to find the best combination of treatments to best help with your needs. Great help to me!

This is the WORST doctor I have ever seen in my life. He took me off my klonopin which I need in order to leave the house because of my agoraphobia. He treated me like a dog because I've had suicide attempts in the past. He made me drive to a pharmacy an HOUR away from where i live to get my meds once a week. I also had an appointment with a counselor set up, and he said no you'll be seeing one of my counselors. I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone.
