Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, MD

I experienced a 30-day course of "care" = almost dying from Dr. Singh that I believe involved a misdiagnosis, treatments that harmed me, use of a cold chamber, and unexplained changes to my food. The clinic did not adequately address my complaints. Seek a second opinion and document treatments.

He was my psychiatrist as a kid and he was very understanding and worked well with my mental issues

Was genuinely concerned about patient need. Easy to speak to and good listener. Long time in practice and knowledgable in field.

I was referred & seen Dr.Singh back in 2004 for a few years because I was very very depressed. He was the first psychiatrist I had ever been to, & I was very thankful for his help, & willingness to give me time when I could not speak due to grief & emotions. My husband was active duty military & we had to move in 06,& Dr.Singh referred me to a colleague that took very good care of me for another 4 years. I am now living back in the area,& was considering going back to Dr.Singh as he did a wonderful job many years ago for me,& am truly sorry to read & learn of the news & awful reviews. My thoughts & prayers are with this doctor & his family. During the time I saw Dr.Singh he was a wonderful caring doctor, staff was pleasant, office was clean,& scheduling was easy, office was open 5 days a week in 2004-2006. My review will base on that. I had looked him up to inquire about seeing him again, but as it seems the office is only open 2 days a week & that can be hard for some.

Worst doctor I have ever seen. Please save your time and find a real doctor. Many of the times I've entered his office, he would sit on his phone and not even talk. When I began having trouble with my current medicine and I mentioned it wasn't working, he instantly got defensive saying I was going against him and said he refused to see me any longer. I have a hard time believing he is still a doctor.

Dr. Singh was once my psychiatrist, and he was slightly condescending and aloof when I first greeted him. I asked him how his day was, and he nonchalantly replied with a monotonous tone, "Please follow me to the back of the building". I was suffering from severe anxiety and severe mania because of the stimulating properties of Prozac that he previously prescribed to me after he discontinued my Zoloft for no apparent reason. I asked him to place me back on Zoloft (Sertraline) because it was helpful in reducing my obsessive thinking (prior to taking Prozac, I was on Zoloft for severe anxiety and OCD) and I explicitly told him that the Zoloft worked better at relaxing me and I never had any trouble on it and was puzzled concerning the change in my medicine. His response to my concerns was essentially, "Medicaid doesn't cover Zoloft". I subsequently obliged, unaware of what types of medication that Medicaid can cover, so I refused to discuss the issue any further and I departed. I… then suffered a mental breakdown and was hospitalized for having a severe mental episode. The doctor there relayed to me a piece of startling information- that Medicaid does in fact cover Zoloft, and he described to me that Medicaid was covering my hospitalization so he prescribed me Zoloft. That fueled my suspicion of Dr. Singh. I would never recommend him to anyone.

I found Dr. Singh to be extremely condescending. Without knowing a single thing about me or me even opening my mouth to speak, he was making assumptions about me and accusing me of lying to him when I contradicted him. I stated that I wanted to go back on the medications I was previously described because they worked for me; not for the asinine reasons he accused me of wanting them. He prescribed Prozac for me, and when I told him that it was making me depressed and suicidal, he of course accused me of lying and trying to manipulate him into giving me the medication I wanted. The only reason I went to him is because I couldn't afford my normal psychiatrist. If you are expecting a psychiatrist that is willing to work with you and treat you as a partner and you healing, he is not the man.

I went to Dr. Singh for the sole purpose of getting off of the Benzodiazepine Klonopin. When I entered the office I encountered a cold looking man that didn't even smile, ask how I was doing or even shake my hand. When I sat down he basically asked me what I was there for. I told him I needed a prescription refill. He said that he "doesn't do Klonopin". I told him that I was trying to taper off of it as you can't quit a benzo cold turkey without sickness. He then told me again "I don't do Klonopin". At some point he held an iPhone up as if to take a picture of me. I know that a lot of doctors realize that patients go from doctor to doctor for these types of prescriptions but I actually wanted to quit taking the drug. He refused service and refunded me my money. The only reason that I went to see Dr. Singh was because I could no longer afford my regular doctor without insurance.
