Dr. Sanjeev B N Rao, MD

This man has no interest in you as a person and will actually belittle you if you are doing well. He doesn't speak with you or look at you; you will get maybe 2 minutes and a few rapid fire checklist questions from him. Every visit he asked me if I was "drinking again" & I had to remind him I don't drink, smoke or do drugs - I was a depression patient. He could never get anything straight. Run away like I did! (Doing great now).

Very rude, makes you feel worse for being in his office, gives you scripts, but has NO clue what is really going on in your life. He doesn't take the time to listen , but lets you know that I didn't look like someone who needed Mental Help... Really weird though, because he put me on a medication that made me a Zombie.. SO really confusing! Then refused to see me until I went for a sleep study at his fathers office even though I told him that I did NOT have the money for one. Pretty much said that I didn't want help then. Decided to diagnose me with an unfortunate DX that basically says I have nothing wrong with me and just go to the dr just bc. It's Really unfortunate that someone like that is in this field.

I came to Dr. Rao just for a transfer of care - someone to fill prescriptions rather than psychiatric care. Upon the first visit, I thought he was joking around by asking the required background/ psychiatric background questions literally at a rate of about 100 mph. After future visits, I realized he did this every time and his purpose was to get me out of his office as soon as possible. I didn't even have a chance to answer some of the questions because he was reading through his script like an auctioneer and not even listening to my responses! As with a usual office visit, his staff will give a reminder call the day before, but the day of my appointment, he had his office staff call my cell phone 4 times during the day when I was at work and 5 times when I was on my way to the appointment afterward to see how far I was and make sure I was coming - my appointment was at 5 p.m. and they were doing this all afternoon up til I walked in the office at 4:50. When I said something about it… to the nurse taking my vitals, she said she was embarrassed about it and apologized that Dr. Rao pressures them to do that when he wants to get out of the office (which is every day). I am grateful I do not actually need psychiatric care because this man would make me jump off a bridge after the first visit. He does not care about his patients; he just wants to make his money and get the heck out of there. I do not know how he was even able to become licensed.

A Dr. that has all his kindness working through the rest of the staff, leaving himself with an attitude that was as uncaring as it was outright rude. Even the staff talks over you on the phone, while at least they hear you out eventually; the Dr. just plain does not want to know about you and will shut you up verbally and with hand movements. Very Rude and hurtful.
