Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Seth, MD

I came to the emergency room at St. Johns Hospital in Santa Monica for a follow up visit after an electric shock I experienced the day before. My muscles in my back totally seized up, I was in extreme pain, and any quick movements made the pain and suffering much worse. Sometimes that pain was so bad that my legs would give way and I would collapse to the floor. I was very concerned about this and the potential for falling that could make my condition worse. Sitting was painful, and walking more than a few steps was impossible for me, yet the doctors and nursing staff acted like I was faking my injury and provided no care to me. After being told I could not lie down, my back began to spasm until I fell out of the wheelchair. I was crying and writhing in pain in the lobby and they told me to keep in down, this was a hospital and I cant make noise like that. Then when they finally brought a gurney to me, they were very aggressive with me from the very beginning for no reason yanking on… and swinging my arms onto the bed because I was too weak and in pain, and not moving fast enough for them. I screamed in pain and told them to be careful, that it F*&!'n hurt a lot when they touched me like that to which they replied (their words) "you're not in pain, stop acting like it." When doctor Sanjeev K. Seth came to see me, the first thing he told me was I had no reason to be there and I was wasting his time. This is before I said a single word to him. He refused to listen to my issue and walked out before I could finish explaining what intense pain and discomfort I was going through. I was trying to tell him that I have pain in my chest and tingling in my limbs. As he was leaving, I heard him say "get him a cane to help him get out of here." After that I only saw rude and discourteous nurses. Then one of the nurses who was drawing my blood, also was unhappy that I was weak and moving very slowly, so he grabbed my arm forcefully and yanked it towards him and yelled at me to stop moving. I said that he hurt me and he replied, "stop being a baby and grow up." My pain levels increased significantly after he aggressively manhandled me. I believe he assaulted me. A few hours later, as I am still having back spasms on the bed and crying in pain, a nurse comes in with a cane and tosses discharge paperwork on my bed and says you've been discharged, you can leave. They just leave the cane there without concern as to whether I know how to use it or if it will support me appropriately. They never explain the discharge paperwork to me or even what discharge means, and when I read it I tell them that much of the details of what I told the doctors and nurses are not reflected in the diagnosis and paperwork. The discharge paperwork recommends that I take doctor prescribed muscle relaxers, but they refuse to prescribe them to me. I asked to speak to the doctor or charge nurse about getting complete documentation regarding my visit. Instead they sent 5 security guards to forcibly escort me out of the building even though I was unable to walk. Eventually they tossed me a folding walker. I had to lay outside the ambulance bay for over an hour before I could arrange a ride home. This was the most embarrassing and insulting experience I ever had in my entire life. To be so vulnerable and in so much pain but get treated with callousness and malice by the staff of a hospital that I believed was intended to help and assist people in conditions such as mine. They were rude, discourteous, impatient, aggressive and unconcerned with my health. I did not receive proper care and was forced out of the hospital before addressing my concerns fully. I pray that someone with authority can visit the hospital and talk some sense into the people in charge so that no one else has to ever suffer the misery of my hospital experience at St. John's ER in Santa Monica.

Such a caring doctor. He was very genuine and intelligent.And handsome,too!
