He has lost the touch

I dubbed this as "mixed review" because in some ways Dr. Singhal is positively brilliant, and in others, absolutely obtuse. He has successfully found solutions for my depression when medicines have ceased to work or the depression has worsened on a number of occasions. However, he can be something of a pill pusher and is not receptive to patient requests to reduce dosages or try something different.

I started seeing Dr. Singhal back in 2006 for bi-polarism. Our patient doctor relationship was outstanding until the beginning 2017. There was a major shake up in practice and I believe many providers left. Suddenly booking my weekend appointments after 10 of having them became a problem. I listened to a commercial for some sort of meditation class that was being offered not once, but twice. We got to me at the last five minutes. I'm sure my insurance company would have loved to know they paid for two infomercial's. Oh, and this "life altering" class only costs $400.00. Other events that have occurred that revolve around a manic break is leading me to look for another doctor. If your looking for a psychiatrist I would advise looking for another doctor. This practice is going through a major upheaval and Dr. Singhal just isn't the doctor that once saved my life.

I'm really not sure what to think of Dr. Singhal. Sometimes he spends close to forty minutes with me, sometimes he sees me for five minutes. And I have never gone to my appointment (I always arrive five minutes beforehand) and not waited 30 minutes. I've been to other doctors at the office, and have not experienced this issue, so I know it's him. He seems really knowledgeable about the issues, but the one treatment call he has made for me was nearly life-threatening. His office is a mess, and he is always complaining about the computer system or how swamped he is. That's not what I want from my doctor. The staff at the place are great. He is not. If you are waiting to see a doctor that leaves you satisisfied, I recommend seeing someone else. I'm about to.

I am 37 years old and have been to my fair share of psychiatrists (aka, pill pushers). I was diagnosed in my early twenties and whenever I moved and saw a new doctor (or acquired new insurance and had to find a new doctor), they asked about my diagnosis, which prescriptions I took and then they would write the rx and out I went. Dr. Singhal spends a significant amount of time with me at each appointment and is the first psychiatrist that has cared enough to help me. I am now living a life that is leaps and bounds better/happier since Dr. Singhal took the time to dig a little deeper and figure out what my problems were. WIth his help I have become the best wife, mom and person that I can be. Dr. Singhal is brilliant.

Dr. Singhal does not take the necessary time with his patients to make an informed diagnosis. He does not return calls promptly even in emergent situations. When he returns calls, he does so when he literally has 1 minute to talk. He lacks caring and compassion. In a recent emergent situation, he did not follow up. When he determines that the visit is over, he will turn his back to the patient and call for the next client.
