Dr. Sanna Mahmood, MD

Horrible. Probably paid to get in medical school.

Dr. Mahmoud is the WORST doctor I have EVER encountered. Patients BEWARE! I had a pre-op appointment with Dr. Sana Mahmood this morning at Optum in Redondo Beach, CA. During the appointment, I mentioned that I wanted to discuss another issue that I had been experiencing. Dr. Mahmood quickly shut me down by saying NO! She explained that she ONLY discusses the health issue for which the appointment is for and nothing else. She went on to say that if she listened to a patient's every health concern, she would feel rushed and unfocused and that she did not want to feel rushed- And that she did not want me to feel like she was rushing. She went on to lecture me on the process of all her work behind the scenes - as if this was important to my current health situation. The Dr. was in the exam room with me for a total of 4 minutes! She examined me for two minutes and the remaining time was spent giving me a tongue lashing because I wanted to discuss another health concern! She then told me… that if I did not like her method that I should find another doctor. She even offered to have her medical assistant come back into the room to help find another doctor! In the time she utilized complaining about not wanting to feel rushed, and all the work a patient appointment requires behind the scenes, she could have patiently listened to my concerns and done her job in a professional manner! Dr. Sana Mahmood is the worst doctor I have ever come across. In my years, and there are a lot, I have NEVER had a doctor tell me that they will ONLY discuss the ONE issue for which the appointment is for. Dr. Sana Mahmood is unprofessional, condescending, and uncaring. How and why Optum employs a doctor who does not care about her patients is beyond belief. She speaks to her patients like they are children and lectures them on the dos and don’ts of appointment etiquette.

Absolutely horrible. Did not take my problem seriously and lied to me about testing everything possible for my blood work, leaving me with lots of questions and absolutely zero answers. I do not believe that she actually cares about my health which is her one job.

I DO NOT recommend this location to ANY patient, especially new patients looking for Doctors who truly care about their well being. I was assigned to Dr. Mahmood she is unnecessarily aggressive and was hostile during a phone appointment we had. I get the feeling she assumed I would automatically be aggressive because I am a black woman and that is the stereotype placed against us. During our phone interview she said things to me such as; " I am the medical professional, LET ME FINISH, I'll do this for you now but I'm not doing anything else!" This is just a few of the unprofessional things she said to me. I'm done, I only met with her three times total and I am completely turned off. I do not feel safe in her care and I am in the process of finding another doctor.

I told her I had a few issues and her response, " Well your appointment is only 15 minutes so we might not be able to address them all." Nice

Nice at first. But seems SO uninterested if you have more than one issue to discuss. Her staff is cold too. She’s on the clock. She makes it very clear.
