Dr. Santosh Maharjan, MD

Dr. Maharjan berated me & other clients, saying pain did not exist because it was not evident to him. He told me I didn't "appear" to be in pain. He told me my withdrawal resulting, debilitating skin burning sensation was "imagined" and a result of "depression" which I WAS NOT dealing with. He told another guy (patient at Bowen Center IPU) who'd just had back surgery that his back pain wasn't real either. He "picked" at me & continually made false unverified accusations for things that had absolutely NOTHING to do with my care. RE: -- 1) "You see too many doctors!" (ABSOLUTELY untrue & what does that matter anyway?) 2)"You didn't want to get on medicine with the last d octor" -- some truth, but I started with no problem when he prescribed so why was that an issue? 3) "You need to do . . . . " which I already was doing. Too many examples to mention. He prescribed the most expensive meds -- I assume to get a kickback. He denounced my knowledge when I cited research regarding… verification of my symptoms & considered himself the expert when he was obviously very inept regarding my medication reaction. He basically told me I didn't know what I was talking about even though there is SO much information available -- including articles by medical professionals who have verified & written about my reaction & 100s of blogs (probably even 1000s of blogs) of people who have experienced the same thing. He NEVER ONCE affirmed me for the positive things I was doing or encouraged me in any way (except to acknowledge I was doing better when the withdrawal symptoms became more mangeable). I hope to NEVER deal with this doctor again! He professes knowledge, but doesn't know what he's doing. The only reason why I gave him a 2 instead of a 1 is because he did allow me to wear shoes in the hospital when my feet were hurting.
