After 20 plus years of psychiatric care with several different providers I found Dr. Pillai to be incredibly attentive and insightful. After careful evaluation Dr. Pillai was able to make several new and correct diagnoses. Additionally, Dr. Pillai, based on my physical and mental condition was able to recommend several lab tests he that I have my general practitioner perform. Specifically, Dr. Pillai was curious to know if I had a gene mutation known as MTHFR, not something an average psychiatrist would clue in on based on a standard psychiatric office evaluation. I went and had the testing done, as well as a couple other tests he recommended and his assumptions were all CORRECT. Dr. Pillai takes the time you require to truly analyze and diagnose your condition. He has a warmth, care and compassion for his patients that is very hard to find in this world full of five minute psych. evaluations. Thank you Dr. Pillai for all you did for me. Dr. Pilai is simply the best doctor I have had in over 30 years of being a psychiatric patient. He truly goes above and beyond to really talk to you in a way that other doctors don't. Most psychiatric visits I have had before him took about 10 minutes and exclusively were about medications and any personal problems were quickly dismissed and the doctor would tell me that was to be discussed with a therapist. Dr. Pilai takes the time to really know you and truly discuss your problems. I have only been in the area a few years and was having a hard time finding an ECT provider which is a treatment that saved my life and I needed to continue. Dr. Pilai sent me to the best place and actually advocated for me with my insurance company for MONTHS to get them to meet my needs. I'm epileptic so I'm a higher risk ECT patient and Dr. Pilai not only called the hospital and my insurance many times, he also spoke to colleagues who had done ECT on epileptics to have absolutely every extra bit of… information for me possible. After my treatments, he called me at the end of his day to make sure I was ok and that it had gone well and I was feeling healthy. Dr. Pilai is the gold standard. If you mention his name to another doctor or nurse who knows of him they also will say how lucky to have him as a doctor and that he is what other doctors should strive to be. Perhaps this sounds a bit over the top, but I promise, he is THAT good. The most compassionate, knowledgeable, understanding doctor you will ever meet.

Dr. Pillai helped me when few psychiatrists were willing or able to. He was engaging, willing to listen, trustworthy, and nonjudgmental. I'm incredibly thankful for his kindness and willingness to extend good faith to those who seek help. He answered every question I had and actually worked with me to find a solution to my struggles. I feel confident as a patient of Dr. Pillai's knowing that he has the skill and knowledge to address my difficulties, as well as the compassion to care about me as a person.

Dr. Pillai listens and takes the time to advice you (sometimes more than the normal visit time) He does not prescribes mores medication than what you need like other psychiatrists. He is very personable and kind. I drive 45 minutes to see him. I highly recommend him!

Dr Pillai is one of the most compassionate and empathetic doctors that I have ever encountered! He is truly an amazing person!

Dr. Pillai was very helpful with my level of care. He introduced DNA testing which I had never heard of. He also intorduced a suppliment that I have been genetically lacking. Both very helpful therapies.
