Dr. Saowanee Ngamruengphong, MD

My husband had a large suspicious rectal polyp detected during a routine 5yr colonoscopy. Dr. Ngam to whom he was referred at Hopkins, completely removed it via an endoscopic procedure called ESD. My research revealed numerous advantages of the procedure, most significantly precluding the need for major surgery. I learned that Dr. Ngam had studied the procedure in Japan and was considered the best. Dr. Ngam graciously met with us after the procedure. We listened carefully while she patiently and clearly explained what she accomplished and gave follow-up instructions. We are so grateful to Dr. Ngam and to Dr. Hamza Abdulla at Gastroenterology at Easton for the referral. The facilities at Hopkins Bayview were easily accessible. The staff was extremely helpful and supportive.

She can not speak and understand English well.I am so surprise that how can she work in the Johns Hopkins Hospital!!! She is an angry person. I asked her to explain my treatment plan for the second time ,at that time she got angry. I am very disappointed from Johns Hopkins Hospital

She is a poor English speaker who clearly doesn't do a thorough review of her cases before she does an enteroscopy. She basically told my daughter she caused her own GI problems from what I could understand of her English. She was inept at performing the enteroscopy and allowed a CRNA to use too long of an ET tube on my daughter which has now caused her to develop bronchitis. Do not go to Bayview for GI procedures.
