Dr. Sara Spencer Mccoy, MD

Wouldn't recommend. Very unfriendly and eager to leave. Waited a long time for a short appointment and no testing was done (which was the reason I was there.) Did some very outdated manual tests. Her staff sucks and it took months for them to figure out how to view a cd with images. Ridiculous for a teaching hospital.

I was seeing a doctor from SSM Dean Health who retired so I decided to try Dr. Sara Mccoy at UW Health. Dr. Mccoy seemed uninterested in my past records and the pain that I was in. She didn't seem to hear me. Even though I was diagnosed with seropositive rheumatoid arthritis (a severe form of it), she thought it would be a good idea to take me off of all medications to see how my body would respond. A few weeks of no medications and I couldn't walk and was in excruciating pain. After only 2 visits, I quit going to Dr. Mccoy and would highly recommend NOT not seeing her.

I waited 5.5 months to se e her. Their office had that much time to get my records transferred and they didn't do it! She redid over 2000 dollars worth of tests and said I did not have what I was already diagnosed with! Never looking at my biopsy report from mayo clinic It was positive! Then refused to acknowledge the report! It's MAYO! Come back in 10 months and see the NP! Why? I'm 60 miles from this clinic. UW sucks!

Waited 6 months for a 20-minute visit, tops. (Including vitals and verification of certain information.) Didn't seem to care, not friendly-which I personally don't mind as long as they do the appropriate testing and find a diagnosis. Didn't. Threw some wastebasket diagnosis and told me they don't treat this condition there (which is a red flag for someone who works at UW Madison, allegedly one of the most reputable hospitals in the U.S.) Lack of communication doesn't like to be bothered with questions and her nurses are snotty and unintelligible. Lack of up-to-date technology in the rheumatology field and a serious overall lack of communication throughout this entire hospital. I feel sick for the people who have to suffer so these doctors can make it out of work at exactly at 5. A bunch of bureaucratic nonsense where people slip through the system. I hoped going to UW Madison would be different. It's not.

I had high hopes for Dr. McCoy, but she refused to do xrays or run lab work despite my lengthy symptom list and visible joint changes. I wonder how much damage has been done while I went untreated. I clearly expressed how sick I'd been for a few years. I have moved on to a doctor who actually believes me and cares if I get better or not.

Dr McCoy was very professional and explained everything in detail. She was very caring and sweet. I would highly recommend her.
