Talked me through every step of the procedure and was great with nerves. Very respectful.

Most painful and traumatizing pap I’ve ever had in my life and I’m in my 40s. Sara Murphy should not be allowed to touch women.

I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews of Dr. Murphy. After a mediocre experience with an ob for my first pregnancy, I decided to switch physicians for my second. Dr. Murphy and I clicked right away, she is very understanding of my mental health history and takes the time with me to make sure I'm doing well. When struggling with diagnostic testing choices, she went above and beyond to share her opinion which I truly appreciated. I'm so glad to have her as my ob!

I have been visiting Dr. Sara from 1st pregnancy. She is very competent and knows what she is doing. She talks to the point and very practical.

She delivered my first bc on call. She first told me on the phone I wasn’t in labor. Then when I came in fully dilated she threatened to drug me bc I was flinching getting stitches unmedicated. She was very rough, uncaring and even the nurses made a comment about how horrible she was. I switched practices due to her. Seriously run and find another doctor. She’s that bad.

If you are reading this review, please listen to me and do not choose this doctor. I only switched because my previous doctor left kaiser. Dr Sara Murphy is cold, insensitive, lacks compassion and it’s clear she is only there for the paycheck. I have been with Kaiser since I was born and because my experience with her was so bad, I’m going to switch coverage. My appointment was so terrible, I never want to step foot in another Kaiser again. I came in for breast exam because my grandma recently passed away from breast cancer and my mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, so I’ve been a little worried about getting it myself, which I think is rather understandable. Not once did she show any compaasion or signs of sympathy. Not once did she even acknowledge what I had said. In fact she said, if we live to be that old, referring to my grandma who got cancer in her 70’s, we’re all going to get cancer. I thought to myself, wow how nice of you to say to someone who just lost her… grandma. Message to her: keep your ignorant comments to yourself. It was very clear this woman is not a doctor because she wants to help people or cares about her patients, she’s there to collect a paycheck. Don’t see her if you want a doctor who is a person with a heart. There were other issues during my appointment with her that I won’t address here, but I will be calling kaiser to file my complaint tomorrow as well as calling my HR to change healthcare providers.

I had a D&C procedure with Dr.Murphy. During the procedure, I really liked the fact that she was telling me what she was doing and what would be the next steps. The intervention was very painful and I would have liked to be reassured and encouraged during the procedure, but nothing at all, she was really cold. However, she took the time to answer all my questions after the procedure, what I appreciated.

Dr. Murphy has an amazing bedside manner. I have never felt such compassion from a doctor in my life. Highly recommend her.

She is terrible with women 35+, like me, who conceive. Upon minutes of telling me my pregnancy was no longer viable she went into options for aborting the embryo with absolutely no empathy, hug or reassuring words. She blamed it on my age (I was 36 when I conceived). I'm not sure that can be 100% accurate though because studies show that younger women can also miscarry and that older women go onto have successful pregnancies. I was shocked that this would be her first response to me and my husband getting this shocking news. Earlier she'd also told us that if there was cause for concern I'd likely have had symptoms, of which we had none, so now I know that is not always an accurate statement. Beware of this doctor.

Dr. Murphy delivered my first child and everything was normal. A few years later, I had a miscarriage. Dr. Murphy tried to tell me that it was just a "mass of cells." To me, it was a human being. When I was struggling with the diagnosis of losing the baby, she got up and walked out of the room. At one point when I voiced concerns over losing the baby, she asked me if I was Catholic. Why do I need to be Catholic to acknowledge that I had a baby growing in me not just a mass of cells that can be disposed of? Very bad bed side manner and obviously not a believer in a baby being a human life. Would not recommend as a doctor for any Christian woman.
