Dr. Sara Leigh Rivette, MD

I ended up with an occipital stroke. I am legally blind. I went to this doctor for eight months of complaints of vision problems, asking for tests, CT scan etc. Nothing was done, but excuses given. I was even taken off my BP meds by this doctor which is what aided the stroke. She floats from one community to another. First Bay City, Charlevoix and not Harbor Springs. Yes, I'm one angry patient who trusted her doctor and wanted her to do the best for me. I tried transferring doctors and she put a block on that within the office. Then the doctor I asked to take me over sent me a letter to me by mistake in my portal to this doctor. How unprofessional. Do we not pay enough for our health care and have expectations for our care? Should it not be confidential? Had this doctor listened to me and exhausted all potential testing this stroke could have possibly been prevented or caught early! Who lives with this...ME. Make sure you pick the right doctor because it is your health… and life that will change. I come forward to say this, so other's won't pay a price like I have. I hope the other patients of this doctor I have talked to come forward with their errors also! I would rate in the negatives but the lowest choice is 1 star.

This doctor is very dismissive of patient issues and will not refer you to anyone. Yes, she listens to complaints but never gives helpful information. Leaves you hanging out there wondering what your suppose to do. People need to write reviews about what has happened to them so other patients know. If not we spend a lot of time with doctors such as this and don't go to the real ones that care and will help you find answers to questions they don't know.

Dr. Rivette is amazing but her staff is extremely rude. In fact, I am looking for a new Doc just because of them and refuse to send anyone I love their way. I only wish she knew how they spoke to people because she would be mortified. The office hours are extremely short also.

If you are a Weight Loss Surgery Patient run the other way. Dr Rivette can be very dismissive of your issues, she does not understand the proper care, especially by way of Mal-absorption and Vitamin levels that are special for WLS Patients. I have suffered for over 2 years with her being my Dr constantly giving her the benefit of the doubt BUT once I switched to a Healthplus HMO from BCBS that was the straw that broke the camel's back. She never wants to refer me to specialists, not even my WLS Surgeon for my yearly check ups. She would rather talk through MyChart versus seeing me for an appointment because she receives money for me being her patient each month regardless if she sees me in the office or not. She PARTICIPATES with my insurance and that is part of the HMO GAME and she is abusing it. Very sad that I have had to suffer and fight for basic things like Vitamin Deficiencies. Looking for a new PCP now...

Very smart and trust her totally.

I have been going to Dr Rivette for over 20 years. She always takes time, asks questions, and does a complete exam. I have never had a long wait in waiting room or office.
