Dr. Sara Kathleen Sheriff, MD

Dr. Sheriff is attentive and seeks to work collaboratively with you. However, she can also come across as acting like she knows you better than you know yourself and has no graciousness for real emergencies that prevent you from making an appointment. When you first meet with her, also make sure she is staying with her current practice and not about to move to another or you may need to deal with scheduling and serious business office difficulties (nearly malpractice, such as charging you full freight despite the fact that you have insurance covering most of the bill and then only reimbursing you months later). She has now returned to Psych Alternatives, which overall is a convenient group practice but be forewarned, they rarely answer the phones, pharmacy faxes for refills can get lost, and they will charge you $150 for a missed appointment (which itself is unreasonably high but then this is the Bay Area) even if you have a valid emergency, such as needing to accompany an employee to… the police station, which most doctors would waive. That being said, Dr. Sherrif is a thorough attentive and collaborative doctor.
