Dr. Sarah Margaret Benish, MD

My experience with Dr. Benish was not great. She did not really listen to my concerns and did not explain things well to me. She also ended up prescribing me a medication that I had already informed her that I had tried and it was not effective.

I will refer to Dr Benish as a lady in this review since I think calling her a Dr is beyond what she is, at least based on my experience... I went to see her as a "headache specialist" @ Fairview in Minneapolis... I went there with my hopes up thinking "oh Lord, this might be the answer I so desperately need).... A medical student (very nice person) took notes of my condition which is intractable headaches for which I've tried every single evaluation, treatment, horrible painful procedures... well, you get the point... as soon as she came in she had already made up her mind that I suffered from migraines (I've had migraines before and they are completely different from what I suffer now which is daily debilitating pain that most days just keep me in bed unable to do anything)... anyway, the first thing out of her mouth was "we don't provide narcotics" like that was what I wanted or expecting... then she started pushing this brand new medication to prevent migraines (here we go with the… migraines again) that was approved by the FDA just last month, costs $7,000 a year and it may provide 50% of relief like I was a guinea pig... she has to be a lot more knowledgeable than me but her bedside manner, her agenda, her lack of compassion, the fact that she barely let me speak definitely keeps me from referring to her as a "Dr"...

I have been seeing Dr. Benish for two years and I think she is great. Always informs you of whats going on, explains side effects and so on with whatever procedure she is doing. She is very friendly and always has a smile on her face. Great doctor.

Dr. Benish has been my daughters Neurologist for several years. We have had very good support ,information and interest in Vicki's health and well being. We are very comfortable with her treating Vicki for seizures.
