Dr. Sarah Resnick Cheyette, MD

The Doctor will peddle her book on Amazon and push the patient to buy it, then turn around and charge hundreds of dollars for a ridiculously incompetent consultation. She also has very poor bedside manners, doesn't seem to care about the patient. I encourage anyone considering this doctor for ADHD support to go elsewhere.

Although I am sure Dr. Cheyette is a knowledgeable doctor, but she completely dismissed my concerns and undermined me as a parent when we were referred to her to consider ADHD for my teen. She asked to speak to my teen alone, then called me back in and announced that there is no need to do even a questionnaire because there is no way my teen could have ADHD. My teen of course had denied there are any problems and was upset that she had to be there at all (and denial can be a large component of ADHD) - which involve extreme tantrums and arguing over every limit, fits over weekend night curfews or expectations around chores, arguing non-stop about having to have school work done on time or going to sleep before 1 am. My teen also bullies family members in the home and is extremely forgetful and blows up when confronted with the natural consequences of her forgetfulness - shifting blame on those around them. Dr. Cheyette, of course, knows none of this, because she did not care to ask me,… the parent, but instead, according to my teen, told her while alone in the room that at least my teen will be able to move away from me in a few years and that some parents (me, in this case) like to make up diagnosis for their kids. Totally unprofessional, undermining and humiliating. I was so shocked by her dismissiveness I just wanted the appointment to be over with. When my teen later told me what she had said when they were alone in the room (or course said as "proof" that she should not have to listen to me, come home before 10 on a weeknight, etc..) I felt defeated and disprespected. If my teen does have ADD/ADHD (as her father does) then Dr. Cheyette has just helped to set the foundation for years more of denial. I truely wish I had never taken my teen to see her and would never refer anyone else to her.

She should not be working with children. She was dismissive, rude, made unnecessary comments and stupid remarks, rolled her eyes when I asked that my child be excused for part of our discussion and clearly has no respect for people in general. She stared at her computer screen through most of my answers to her cursory questions, and when I explicitly stated, "you didn't even look at him" to observe something of clinical significance that is empirical, she didn't move a muscle to turn her head away from her computer screen. She wasted our time and simply defrauded our insurance company by collecting a fee for sitting with us and ignoring the developmental neurological concerns of a child. Her continued licensure should be investigated. I don't think doctors should be paid just to read their email. Office wait times, cleanliness, and appointment ease should not artificially inflate her ratings.

Spot on with diagnosis and suggestions for treatment

My son has ADHD as well as a pervasive developmental disorder. When a neurological problem required a specialist, my medical group referred me to Dr. Cheyette. Dr. Cheyette was very thorough in her examination and spent plenty of time with us. She ordered appropriate tests and paid close attention to the issues at hand. She also recognized issues relating to my son's medication that had also been concerns for my wife and me. Since ADHD is neurological in nature, we were able to use Dr Cheyette to take over the care formerly administered by a psychiatrist outside of my medical group.My son's treatment is now more effective and his medication is more appropriate. Since Dr. Cheyette is now part of PAMF, all medical care is within the same group for my son.

She seems to be in her own world. Ordered some tests for our kid and never bothered to follow up with the results or let us know. Never seems to have a clear answer on anything
