Dr. Sarah Newbold Cross, MD

Dr. Newbold will tell you that she can’t see your child’s nasal (even though it’s too early to see it). Then she’ll encourage you get genetic testing for confirmation, which will most likely come back negative. Someone should look into how many genetic tests she has been pushing, and whether she’s getting kickbacks for pushing them. Classic kickback scam IMO..

My son is almost eight months old and I am just now able to write about my experience with Dr. Cross back in June 2022. I went to have an ultrasound as my primary doctor noticed something in my son's stomach that they wanted to check on. Dr. Cross basically told me my baby more than likely had down syndrome and then she seemed annoyed that I was visibly shaken by this news. Her bedside manners were nonexistent. The next week, while waiting for my genetic testing results to come back, I called to discuss what she had seen. When I asked how concerned we should be about this, she spun it to sound like I was being awful for asking how concerned we should be with a diagnosis that could potentially mean future health problems and a shortened lifespan for our unborn child. I made sure to call back and ensure I would never have to see Dr. Cross again. Thankfully, every other doctor I saw there was wonderful and kind. From reading her other reviews, it almost sounds like Dr. Cross enjoys… delivering a worst case scenario as fact to her patients and cares very little for the stress and anxiety this can causes them during pregnancy.

My baby had a chromosomal abnormality on his genetic testing so I was a little sensitive and scared. And this doctor was without a doubt the RUDEST, least compassionate doctors I have ever encountered in my 41 years on this planet. It wasn’t just a bad day, she was like that every time. In retrospect, I should’ve requested literally anyone else. Why she chose to work in a field where she has to work with pregnant women and families is beyond me.

Very poor bed side manner. She only cared about pushing an amniocentesis for something my baby had a less than 1% chance of having- and would not change the outcome of the pregnancy. When I told her that I was very scared about the risks of having an amniocentesis done her response was “what is scarier, having a miscarriage at 16 weeks or giving birth to a baby that dies?” I lost a baby after a month in the NICU last year… I felt like there could have been a lot more compassion when handling the situation. She didn’t really care to discuss anything else besides doing the amniocentesis. Luckily I found another doctor in her group that was very compassionate and thought the test would be very unnecessary given the risks

Didn't introduce herself or acknowledge me after walking into the room. Throughout the appointment I felt very rushed and as if I was unworthy of her time.

I had trouble finding the words to describe Dr. Cross because she is truly one of a kind. I’ve never had a doctor that I trust so emphatically in terms of both her medical knowledge and her judgement, that is more thorough and prepared ahead of every appointment for my specific and unique situation, or who I feel has cared about me and my family so much. It was our first appointment with her when she detected a severe birth defect in the ultrasound of my pregnancy. I would never wish that experience on anyone, but Dr. Cross has been the rock that got us through it. When she shared the news with us, she did it in her always calming, patient, empathetic but to-the-point way which somehow gave me the ability to find peace in a moment of darkness. That was 3 months ago, and since then she has gone well above and beyond on multiple occasions, talking to me on the phone several times about our options for the future, going out of her way to research additional test options and making… sure I have all of the relevant information I need to make educated decisions about next steps. She’s even been there for me to talk me through the very emotional days I’ve had as we plan for our next pregnancy. I just feel so lucky to have found Dr. Cross and would highly recommend her to anyone going through a complicated pregnancy.

Where's the zero Stars? She needs more compassion and understanding.

Had an 8:45am appointment to see if I could carry a baby after 13 years. Well let's just say I had to wait until 10:15am to see her and was insulted based upon my medical history to even attempt. Mind you, this woman doesn't know me nor does she have my medical history or charts to fall back on. It's a shame to feel like that after wanting to create a family again.
