Summary
Dr. Cueva is a board-certified pediatrician who graduated from Harvard Medical School in 2000. She then achieved her life-long goal of moving to the Bay Area for residency training at Oakland Children%u2019s Hospital. After seven years of academic pediatrics at Stanford University, Dr. Cueva joined The Village Doctor team in early 2012.
Dr. Cueva has been a Clinical Instructor in Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine since 2004. At Stanford, she cared for patients and taught residents and students in a broad range of clinical environments, including the neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric ward, newborn nursery, and the pediatric primary care clinic. She was also part of a multi-disciplinary team performing comprehensive developmental evaluations of former NICU patients and other high-risk infants and children in the Lucile Packard Children%u2019s Hospital Developmental Clinic.
She is an instructor at Lucille Packard%u2019s Center for Advanced Pediatric Education …and a guest lecturer for the Stanford Physician Assistant training program. Interested in giving back to the community, Dr. Cueva has also been a part-time primary care pediatrician in the East Bay, where her fluent medical Spanish skills enabled her to provide care to a largely immigrant and underserved population.
Although she has always had a difficult time saying which area of pediatrics enjoys most, Dr. Cueva has special interests in developmental and behavioral pediatrics, sleep, parenting and discipline, newborns, NICU graduates, and preventive medicine at all ages.
A local Menlo Park resident with her husband, a Stanford scientist, Dr. Cueva enjoys trying to keep up with her young son and daughter, participating in co-op nursery school, connecting with other mothers of young children through moms%u2019 groups, and being active in her community.
