Dr. Sarah Ann Dalechek, MD

I am happy to finally have found a psychiatrist who can be my therapist and write for medications. She is warm and I feel cared for and cared about. I like how responsive she is too.

I contacted Dr. Dalechek to ask for help and provide treatment options for my wife’s anxiety and panic attacks. Within 10 seconds Dr. Dalechek immediately turned the conversation to how we would pay. Directing me to her website and the financial payment section. Dr. Dalechek did not ask a single question about my wife’s symptoms or anything at all about why we had contacted her for help. She was only interested if I knew how much her office visit costs ($300) and if I was aware that she did not accept insurance. When someone contacts a medical professional for help they have a duty and obligation to listen and at the very least ask a few questions to establish if they can offer effective treatment options. It is not appropriate to immediately (within 10 seconds) discuss financial compensation for their services. It is obvious that Dr. Dalechek is not a compassionate or professional person. To the contrary she is more interested in how much money she will be paid. We… have the means to pay for her services but not to a person who shows no interest and asks no questions before immediately turning the conversation to payment. I worked with Dr. Dalechek during her training at MUSC. She is skilled both in medication management and in psychotherapy. I was impressed by her care and interest in her patients. She also has specializations in Women's health, including pre- and postpartum problems for women and their partners.

Dr Dalechek is a very empathetic and warm doctor who I’ve seen just a few times so far. I would recommend her because she’s been very helpful to me!
