Dr. Sarah A Dodwell, MD

My husband and I had such a great visit. This was the first time his diagnosis was actually explained!

A family member of mine saw "Doctor" Dodwell and first, they were unable to locate her MRI, and my family member had to wait an extra 20 minutes while the "doctor" reviewed it, for the first time. Then, when my family member shared their concerns and offered video of the odd spells they have been having, "Doctor" D said she was all set with that, if there was no 'flopping' around, she didn't need to see it. My family member had also been experiencing memory issues and migraines. Dodwell said she doesn't really 'know headaches' but could get an NP referral for treatment. She then said she thought the issues were caused by poor sleep and medications. She also said the uncontrollable muscle movements were mental health related and my family member just needed to go to therapy. My family member sought a second opinion, and was started on meds for seizures (the strange spells) and diagnosed with tardive dyskinesia. DOCTOR isn't a title she deserves and she does not care about her patients.

Dr. Doddwell is an intelligent and well-meaning person but she was lacking any interest to help me find solutions. She said that she had her colleagues look at all of my imaging and medical records and they found nothing wrong. I have tried to work with her for the last 6 months. I took one of the radiologists' reports form a scan that she ordered to a Boston hospital for a second opinion. The Boston radiologist read the same exact scan and came to an entirely DIFFERENT conclusion! Wow. Thank you Boston radiologist! Now I am seeing a neurologist in Boston and ACTUALLY getting help. I was hesitant to write this review because I know that she is not bad person. I just do not understand why she wouldn't help me.

Waited for Dr. Bodwell for an hour. She had sent in a medical student to obtain answers to questions that were already in the chart as the diagnosis was already made a year prior. When she finally came in, with the medical student who did not have permission to be there, we were told that this was a "second opinion" consult and that it was scheduled an hour. Mind you, she was already an hour late so that meant another hour. I informed her that meds for Parkinson's were already a half hour late due to her tardiness which I am sure, was due to the medical student being there and was told this was a "teaching moment". No you do not have my permission. Disregarded that totally. She continued to give her diagnosis without regard to the one given a year ago and without increasing much needed meds. Will be seeking a new doc. Do not waste your time.

I an so happy I switched to Dr. Dodwell for my Parkinson’s disease. I feel really listened to and she had lots of good ideas to help me feel better.

Dr. Dodwell is very caring and knowledgeable about Parkinson's Disease. Spent a lot of time to get to know me and my problems.

I found her to be uninformed about my rare condition, in spite of requesting a doctor knowledgeable in that area. She really didn't want any patient input and was set in her misdiagnosis.
