Dr. Sarah Monique Fitzgerald, MD

I've never left a poor review for a doctor, I've had great psychiatrists throughout the years. I only met with Dr. Fitzgerald because I got new insurance. This is the worst part. Dr. F doesn't tell you about any sort of side effects of medication, she just pushed a new antidepressant on me each session. I was never informed about the medication, which was often grueling to deal with when tapering off. I must have tried six different medications before I found one LAST MONTH that was good enough. She had me go through this for 1.5 years before finding a new provider. If that's not bad enough... She reads emails during video calls. You can see the reflection on her glasses, she's not paying attention to you. There is further evidence of this when you're finished speaking and she gives the most generic response, like, "I hear you," "sounds like you have a lot to deal with," or "how does that make you feel?" Well, I'm pretty upset as you can see, so do what a thorough doc does and try to… showcase different perspectives. She has pronounced my name wrong since day one, and hadn't kept note of the multiple times I've corrected her. The longest session I've had with her has been 45 minutes, she cuts everything short, and only books on Tuesday and Thursday. This is an example of a greedy, lazy practitioner who sees her patients as a waste of her day. She lacks understanding and a true connection. It's no wonder why she was the only psychiatrist around for bookings when I first met with her. I'd only recommend her if you're desperate and know what medication you need to take. Never go to her expecting emotional support or a medical consultation.
