Dr. Sarah Elizabeth Salamon, MD

Dr. Salamon was the worst part of my pregnancy and birth experience. I saw her during one of my routine pregnancy checkups when my normal doctor was unavailable, and she belittled me for wanting an unmedicated birth. She told me I should expect that I wouldn’t be able to do it, making me cry. When I went into labor, she was unfortunately the doctor on duty. My husband said she sat in the corner pouting because the nurses and my doula were so effective at supporting me during birth—which did end up being unmedicated. After my son was born, we had asked to leave the umbilical cord uncut for a while to allow the blood to drain from it into his body. She pushed the nurses aside and cut it anyway, exhibiting the same exasperation and frustration that she did while pouting during my labor. If she had not left the OBGYN practice soon thereafter, I would have found another provider to avoid ever encountering her again.

I had my first appt with Dr Salamon today. She spoke So fast and was so hyper I asked her to slow down. She needs to stop, breathe, actually look at the patient and calmly provide guidance.
