Dr. Sarah Elizabeth Goodman, MD

I love Dr. Goodman. I've been a patient of hers for 7 years. She is also my sons pediatrician. She is very personable and helpful. DR. Goodman has such a warmth about her, she makes me feel very comfortable. She was actually recommended to me by my sister-in-law when I was looking for a new physician. I was so nervous the first time I went to meet her, all my worries instantly melted away after a few minutes with her.

Dr. Goodman has been my doctor since I moved to North Carolina over ten years ago. She is patient, caring, and always treats me as family. I've followed her from one practice to another...and will follow her again. She has excellent values and puts her patients' well-being above finances. In addition, her response time to online questions is quick and efficient. Where to now, doc?

I have been going to Doctor Goodman for over 10 years and have seen her over 50 times. She is truly the best doctor I have ever had. Obviously I have had a number of health issues requiring quite a bit of attention. She is always upbeat, energetic, and thorough. She is extremely good at diagnosing problems and taking the appropriate action. I could not hope for a better physician.

After Dr. Goodman left Novant Health, I decided to give Holston Medical Group a try and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Goodman. My appointment was scheduled the first week after her office opened under Holston Medical Group. The visit with her itself went well enough, in the she was thorough but everything else was a mess! (I paid my co-pay at the time of the visit - took about 10 minutes for the front desk to figure that out - then (surprise, surprise, I received a bill for the co-pay about a month later. I called the billing department and they refused to take my word for it and had no records. The insisted that I mail them a copy of my payment.) During my visit Dr. Goodman prescribed a new medication. She neglected to send it to the pharmacy. I went back and forth with the pharmacy and her office several times, with the pharmacy insisting she hadn't sent in the Rx and her office insisting that they had. (Dr. Goodman hadn't!.) Then to add insult to injury, even after she promised… to send it again, she didn't. Another problem was the lack of a local phone number. It was incredibly frustrating to try to communicate with the office. (Had to call a Tennessee number!) And lastly, I had labwork done at the office but trying to get the results was a nightmare. With Novant, the results were available online withing 24-48 hours. Not so with Holston! I kept checking and checking with their office and they couldn't explain why they weren't available. They didn't have an online portal to check the results so they had to mail them, but even so, there was a long delay. I finally received the results after about 2 weeks, but what was curious was that the labs had actually be resulted within about 3 days, but for reasons known only to Holston, they weren't able to deliver to me. After that 1 visit I decided to go back to Novant. Dr. Goodman was ok, but I don't have confidence in the new practice. Her and her office's communication with me about the prescriptions I need was inadequate and I simply don't trust them to care for my medical needs. At least Novant has its processes in place, with online portal - and a local office phone number.

I am 84 years old, so I've had many physicians. Dr Goodman is the most outstanding one I have had. On my first visit to her, she diagnosed A Fib and sent me immediately to the ER. She saved my life. She listens and provides wonderful medical decisions and meds. I love her. Joan Farrar

I am so grateful that Dr. Goodman encouraged me to take charge of my health by taking practical steps every day. She is upbeat and positive in her commentary. I think that she is a great doctor!

Dr. Goodman has outstanding bedside manners. She is professional, patient an extremely gifted physician. Her team was provided excellent follow up and follow through with referrals as well as additional information to ensure my medical needs were addressed. I would highly recommend Dr. Goodman to any patient. The level and quality of care that she provided to my husband and I went above and beyond the call of duty.

I guess I have been a patient since about the time she started at this practice. I trust her completely, and know that she has mine and my familys best interest at heart. I appreciate the opportunity to have a family doctor. She sees my husband, age 67 all the way down to my grandson, who just turned 10 mos. Recently I inquired about my husband getting the Shingles vacine and she immediately said only after the baby turns 1, since he spends alot of time with us. I think it is great that one doctor has knowledge of our family dynamic and realized right away that this could pose a problem since the Shingles vacine is a live virus and could be bad for the baby. I would recommend Dr. Goodman (highly).
