She received her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 1991. She completed her pediatrics residency at Richland Memorial Hospital in 1994. She was a Fellow in Pediatric Hematology-oncology at the Children's Center fro Cancer and Blood Disorders from 1994 to 1996. She joined Palmetto Pediatrics in 1996 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Grooms is married to Fred Grooms who is a youth pastor. She enjoys church activities, working with youth groups, reading and gardening. Dr. Grooms is the proud mother of Abigail and Eric.
