Dr. Sarah Jacqueline Herts, DO

Dr.Herts is very respectful and knowledgeable doctor. She takes her time listening to my concerns and questions. I really appreciate her and how quickly she responded to my messages and booked me an appointment.

I am a new patient of Dr. Herts. I told her that I am in recovery in order to prevent and avoid prescribing any addictive medications. She has been very cautious and thorough about prescribing medications that are safe. Plus, she ALWAYS returns messages/calls within the hour. She is definitely careful, so if you are drug seeking-you may want to go elsewhere. Her impeccable medical ethics is exactly what the world needs. I give her a GOLD star.

I’ve completed my fourth appointment with Dr. Sarah Herts and I couldn’t recommend a better Psychiatrist! I have a bit of a tricky work schedule and finding a psychiatrist willing to do both medication management and counseling/therapy was essential for me. Her D.O. specialty and focus on complete and holistic medical and mental health care has been THE perfect fit for me. I’ve struggled with pretty severe anxiety and depression since my mid-teens and grew up in a household where mental health issues were things to be ashamed off. As a result, I went undiagnosed for years. Each and every time I complete a session with Dr. Sarah Herts, I feel like I just finished having a conversation with my older, wiser sister and friend. The type of friend that’s going to tell you want you need to hear, not what you want to hear! She has an amazing down-to-earth and approachable way about her. I always leave her office feeling supported, encouraged and hopeful for the future.

I have been a patient of Dr. Herts' for over 4 years. Her services have been invaluable to me. She is not only wise and kind, but also extremely funny! I highly recommend her services to anyone who is genuinely committed to growth and self improvement.

Dr. Herts is an excellent psychiatrist. She has treated me for 3 years. Dr. Herts is empathetic yet honest. She has the ability to allow one to see light in the darkest recesses of the mind. Her style is thorough but comfortable. I am glad she is my doctor.

Dr. Herts has kept me out of the hospital. She has been a great support to me. Got my meds right and doesn't overmedicate. Stays in the loop with my therapist and GP. Doesn't rush me. Bedside manner is tops.

Dr. Herts sees me from Sheppard Pratt via TV to my PCP's office in Western MD. Unlike other doctors she sees me as often as needed to make sure I'm doing well on my new meds. She changed my old regimen and my depression is finally going away. She also sees my husband. We are both very pleased.

After my schizophrenic brother was dismissed from 2 emergency rooms, I brought him to the walk in clinic at Sheppard. Dr. Herts could see my brother was very ill and needed to be admitted when other doctors could not. He wasn't eating because he was so paranoid. He is doing much better now thanks to this doc. I think other docs just didn't give a hoot.

Dr. H has been my psychiatrist for the past 3.5 years. She is very caring and takes her time with me. She never just prescribes anything and has you out the door like other psychiatrists. She is careful and always reviews side effects. Her bedside manner is the best. Hope she never leaves the hospital!! Don't understand the negative reviews...must have her mistaken with someone else!

Dr. Herts treated me in the day hospital at Sheppard. She was very empathic, careful with prescribing, and made sure to connect with my other docs and even my family (which was important to me). She listened when other psychiatrists would not! Wish she could be my regular shrink...
