Dr. Sarah E Hoffmann, MD

I saw her to get initially diagnosed with fibromyalgia. The diagnosis process was relatively smooth, as fibromyalgia is diagnosed based on eliminating other options. At the time, I didn't know much about fibromyalgia and I wasn't sure of my treatment options. Two years later, I returned due to a severe pain flare up. I have been diligently doing all the prescribed "self care" for fibro, and was looking for medical interventions (i.e medication or other treatment). She refused to prescribe medication. Advised me to see a physical therapist, eat more vegetables, and sit in orthopedic chairs. Offered no pain relief or adequate advice. This appointment was the equivalent of paying someone $200 to read a 10-year outdated article about fibromyalgia to you while ignoring or dismissing your pain, limitations, and requests.

We have been seeing Dr. Hoffmann for the last couple of months. She is very responsive to phone calls, emails, concerns etc. I can not say anything negative about our experience with her.

This woman honestly should be fired from her job. She blew off my child and claimed that her fibromyalgia could be cured with counseling and physical therapy. She did not care to run any bloodwork or spend more than 5 minutes in the room with her. I don't recommend any parent to take their child to this horrible woman. She is against medicine and her nurses are just as bad as her. NEVER take your child to her.

I came to this woman at 17 years old sick and scared and told her I thought I had fibromyalgia. She was completely skeptical and dismissive of my opinion and decided to run the same blood tests I had already gotten all negatives on. She basically told me she didn’t know what I have. Well, neither of my parents were ever called (as I was a minor) about my results, and they don’t care about me so they don’t followup. I was just told today by my doctor that she had diagnosed me with fibromyalgia 3 years ago. These 3 years I have been miserable and desperate to find a rheumatologist that I could see. And it was for absolutely nothing. Not only did Dr. Hoffman treat me like I was stupid, she and her office failed to EVER inform me of my diagnosis that she doubted so harshly.
