Dr. Sarah Linn Holets, DO

Dr. Holets was in the ER department of the Waupaca Theda Clark Hospital on the evening of May 28, 2018 when I brought my husband into the ER at 10PM that evening. He has a hx of COPD and he was so ill and SOB that he could hardly walk and I had to have him use a walker to get to the car to go to the hospital and they immediately put him in a wheelchair. The staff person told me to fill out the papers and she would wheel into the ER as he was so short of breath, he could hardly breathe and certainly not even talk. I had tried to get him to go to the Urgent Care or ER all weekend but he did not want to bother anyone on the weekend and he wanted to 'tough it out' until he could make an appt the following day, but I was so scared at that point that I told him if he did not get into the car, I was going to call 911. So Dr. Holet was the ER physician that evening and she miraculously ordered the meds and treatments that made him able to stay at the Waupaca Hospital and… not have to be transferred to Neenah. She ordered the oxygen, the antibiotic IV's, Decadron and the appropriate meds that made him able to survive with this close encounter of unconsiousness. She had an EKG and CT of the chest ordered. She managed her team and delegated to other care givers in this ER to expedite this emgency. In the over 2 hours my husband was in the ER, Dr. Holets was able to stabilize him in order for him to be admitted to intensive care unit that night and I do believe saved his life. Thank you, Dr. Holets, I am very grateful you were in the ER that night and handled this dire situation with such experience and ease. You certainly acted in a most professional and super intelligent manner. Thank you again.
