Dr. Sarah Jane Maudlin

Would leave negative stars if possible. Genuinely one of the worst humans I've had the displeasure of meeting. She was unprofessional, lacked any empathy, and has irrevocably harmed trust in the medical community for so many. Is not fit to practice medicine.

Atrocious bedside manner. She is cruel and condescending and went so far as to roll her eyes at me. Has zero concern for patients or knowledge about side effects from the medications she's prescribing. Under her "care" I became extremely sick.

Would not recommend.

Dr. Maudlin's approach to my mother's depressive issues was extremely unprofessional. Very unsympathetic and cold. I would highly recommend that anyone chose a different option, as Dr. Maudlin shows very little sympathy and caring for her patients. As an example, my mother met with Dr. Maudlin on multiple occasions. At one particular point, my mother made repeated comments (to us at home) that she wanted to die. I took my mother to the inpatient unit to be evaluated. When Dr. Maudlin noticed that my mother had been admitted, she phone-called me with a horrible attitude, questioning "why is she here" and "what do you want me to do with her." She then was not happy with my response, took it personal, and decided to place my mother in a highly restrictive area (as if she was a significant harm to herself or others), rather than work with us to come-up with a reasonable treatment plan. Dr. Maudlin did this purely out of spite, taking advantage of her position. I was extremely upset and… went to the facility, with a intent to remove my mother and take her home and away from such a horrible situation. Luckily, upon arriving, I was able to speak to an extremely understanding nurse who was able to rectify the situation. Just a horrible experience. In all, though, I would not recommend Dr. Maudlin to any one for any reason. Highly highly unrecommended and unprofessional. Please be aware.

I saw Dr. Maudlin for two years. Like most of the other reviews, I found her to lack empathy, had poor nonverbal skills (rolling of eyes, sighed exasperatedly), felt as though as my concerns and opinions were not heard, and late for appointments, double booking in some cases. I lost my trust in her ability to properly treat me.

First time visit recently was very dissappointing. I had heard that she was a good doctor, and was on a waiting list for months to get an appointment. she was half an hour late for our one hour appointment. she cut me off after about 20 minutes, not really even bothering to take that one hour to get to know me. after the first ten minutes, I could tell I lost her anyway, as she stopped listening and engaging with me. she had switched off and started clock watching, looking like she had to go to the bathroom or was very anxious to get to the next appointment...not really having the correct amount of time to get to know me for the first time in the first place. the next appointment is for only 15 minutes. shes an idiot. I was never even asked directly if i was suicidal or had a plan or a weapon. she never asked if i was paranoid or heard voices or was homicidal. I have all of the above. Moron!!! this is exactly why people slip through the cracks. no one… cares, for gods sake-not even the "helpers". she was obviously pre-occupied with being on schedule. yeah right. blew me off. cold. zero compassion. did NOT listen or even ask direct assessment type questions.

Dr. Maudlin listens well. She asks questions and actually lets you take time to answer them. She listens to what you have to say and doesn't interrupt. She cares. She respects my needs, and concerns about meds and doesn't over medicate. If she prescribes something, I try it and it doesn't work, she doesn't force me to stay on it. She tries to find what works best for me as an individual, as her patient. I feel like she cares about me as a person who has purpose in life and not just thinks of me as just another mentally ill patient with no hope. She is professional but yet she is caring. She comes across as not so interested at first, but I think it's just her way of carrying herself. She really is a great doctor who knows what she is doing. Very intelligent and I trust her. She smiles and encourages me and tells me things like, "Good job." "You'll get better, but you'll have to push yourself." When I was in the hospital, she let me stay as long as I needed and didn't force me to leave.… She sees her patients at good times and scheduling an appointment is easy. She returns calls promptly and if you have to have her paged, she calls right away and isn't irritated, even on a weekend or late at night. This is a great doctor! Thanks for all you do Dr. maudlin! You are helping change lives!

I started seeing Dr Maudlin 2 years ago. Since that time the quality of her care is unacceptable. She treats me without compassion and true intrest in my case. She liberally prescribes medication, which has caused me to become worse and more depressed. I find it very difficult to communicate with her, and to get answers for my questions and concerns. She is very indeffrent and lacks any bedside manner. I feel like just a case, instead of a patient. There has to be a better doctor out there and I am looking.

Dr.Maudlin was great when I first starting seeing her. She cared, she would promptly return my urgent phone calls, she would do a lot to help me. However, now she does not care about calling me back when I really need her help with medication issues. She doesn't listen to me anymore. She has a poor additude and has a lack of motivation. She isn't helping me anymore with my medication needs. Overall, I know there are better doctors out there.
