Dr. Sarah Lynn Sullivan, MD

I have never left a review online of anything. I am doing this because of the Jekyll/ Hyde treatment I experienced within the first two visits to Healthy Connections on Malvern Ave. in HS. I first was referred to Healthy Connections by my new therapist as having a pcp and psychiatrist on staff. I always do my background work and decided on Dr. Sullivan (PCP) as she had a couple of good reviews- one that stated she had she had diagnosed a stroke after attending a patient and airlifting her, thereby saving the patient's life! I was told by Dr. Sullivan's nurse when I arrived for my first visit that she did know that they did behavioral health, but didn't think they had a psychiatrist. The whole point of me coming there. Their literature states "We offer professional mental health evaluations and counseling, as well as medication management services to adults and children." The second visit the same nurse said "You know, maybe we do have a psychiatrist over at the Central location..I'm… not sure" The nurse and staff were always VERY kind and friendly to me- until a phone call about 30 minutes ago- about 20 minutes after I left my last appointment. (at which time I asked about kidney pain (as I had my first visit when nothing was done, and today I was told to give a urine sample. They handed me the cup with my birthday and another patients name filled in!) I corrected this as I was not Mr. Stanley Borke!!! nor did I want our records confused! By the way, there was only one other patient in the clinic who was a woman. Dr. Sullivan, and her nurse knew very well I was wanting to be tapered off a controlled medication. Not an Opioid but a behavioral drug. Two pharmacists at Walgreens were very confused as to her directions and wanted to speak to her about the exact tapering process, as it was written in a convoluted manner. After explaining all of this to Dr. Sullivan. She brusquely handed me a "post it" and told me to have them fill it anyway they could figure it out. I thought we were all friends when I left with an appointment to come in in a month. THEN, shortly afterward, I received a voicemail from her nurse. Not to call back and talk to the doctor- that there was some confusion, BUT, that the doctor was VERY upset as I had had the prescription filled, and told her otherwise (which is Completely UNTRUE!) Furthermore she would NOT be filling my prescriptions ever again!!! Yes, I am on Medicaid at present....it in itself is humiliating. Everyone treats you like you are trying to get street drugs from them- Medication doctors prescribed me years ago that I am trying to get OFF of because I'm afraid it is affecting my cognitive abilities.... well this is one instance I WON'T forget! Very unprofessional to say the VERY least. I still can't believe this.

I've been a patient for some years now. She has always listened and asked questions about my health. She seems to care about what is happening to me. I can't see going to another Doctor.

I was admitted to a hospital at which Dr. Sullivan did rounds. I did not have a doctor but had heard about her. I requested her and she traveled several miles, after dark, over country roads (many of which were dirt roads) to attend to me. She had been briefed about my case over the phone before arriving and came immediately to the hospital. Dr. Sullivan said it sounded like I had a stroke. She was right! Dr. Sullivan immediately arranged for me to be air lifted to a hospital where I could see a neurosurgeon. She saved my life and I have recovered about 90% use on the side of my body effected by the stroke. I will always be grateful to her and for her!
