Dr. Sarah Swartz

Dr. Swartz was my nephrologist for four years before I was transferred to adult care. She genuinely cares about her patients and will make you feel like you are being taken care of. She is really big on the patient knowing what is going on i.e., meds, procedures, and knowing blood work. She is not one to sugar coat things. If something is wrong she will tell you and she will help you make it right. She is a very busy woman which you can tell by how booked her appointments are, but when she is in the room with her patients, she gives them the time they deserve. There was never a time when I questioned her decisions and I always felt like I was in good hands. She was my doctor from when I was on peritoneal dialysis till two years after I received a kidney transplant and I couldn't ask for a better doctor. I really miss being her patient!

Met this doctor recently for my small child. She is out of touch with young children. I am very well educated about my son's condition and she had no interest in talking or explaining her approach or her treatment. She did not do any background reading on my son's medical record before she walked in the room. When I tried to inform her of his medical history she just kept saying "uh huh... uh huh" as she ignored us and typed into the computer. I found her to be arrogant and difficult to communicate with.
