Dr. Saro Avakian, MD

BE AWARE - Very Disappointment. I selected Saro Avakian as my PCP based on the reviews - and was I WRONG to rely on FAKE reviews. There is no way to have an opposite experience to what the "positive" reviews are stating-Unless these positive reviews are his friends and relatives. Hmmm This Dr. should NOT be practicing medicine. ZERO knowledge, ZERO compassion, ZERO Bed site manner- keep repeating 20 years of school he completed. Just rushing out to make MORE MONEY on the next unfortunate person. 1st appointment- physical: He DID NOT even come close to the patient and did not check anything - I have NEVER seen a physical appointment when doctor doesn't even check the basic things: like your eyes, ears etc. He just asked questions and ordered blood test. I was kind of surprised but thought ok- maybe this doc has a different practicing system and after the results he will complete the physical as I have seen with my prior doctors. 2nd appointment was same exact way. Also, during… my 1st visit, I asked for a referral and did not hear from them for almost 3 weeks. I know they have forgotten because after calling them within few days my referral came in. Anyways, if you want a REAL Doctor and not a business man - DO NOT select him!!!!!

One of the best doctors I’ve ever met. He listens and cares, explains everything and answers my questions. He always makes me smile even when I am down due to my illness. Staff are kind and work hard. One of them worked hard to make sure I would get my medication approved by my insurance and called me several times to update me on the status!

Couldn't even get an appointment after being on hold for 10min!!!

I’m not surprised that this doctor, Dr. Saro Avakian doesn’t have much positive reviews, and the only reviews here are most likely his own staff members posting to increase his positive feedback., however I do hope my posting will help serve the community to take heed from falling under the same trap set up for me., Three weeks ago my mother was discharged from Glendale Methodist hospital, while under the care of her primary care Dr. Saro Avakian., he never made a follow up call with her., but her previous Doctor Dr. Hiratch Yadigaryian always calls her home and check to see how she was doing, he always give her priority to check in once she’s in his office., because he knows she has critical health conditions , 2 days now since she had pain in her right eye, and never got a call back from him. I called Dr. Avakian’s office today and requested for him to prescribe her an eye drop, so the receptionist Aunnie wanted to schedule her an appointment for Monday, which was three days from… now, But since it was an emergency situation I thought if only he would prescribe her the eye drops and I would pick it up from the pharmacy., she asks me can you bring her on Monday I said sure I would, but first I need the doctor prescribe me the eye drops, then she asks me what is wrong with her eye again., was quite annoying she wasn’t taking any notes nor did she have the intention to forward my message to the doctor,. Not the first time this happened., Then she went further to setting up the appointment on Monday, I mentioned to her she have an appointment with Dr. Ahmad zu alfikar, and I need both appointments to be in close proximity, and that she had a prior agreement with the doctor to check her in as priority to all other patients, but then she became rather argumentative and abruptly refused except to do so., after few minutes Aunnie calls my mom and tells her, dr. Avakian dropped her as his patient and canceled her Monday appointment, when my mom asked her why, she said that I, her son had cursed at them., I had no recollection of such accusation, so I called her back to inquire as to when did I curse at her., she replied you are harassing me and hang up the phone in my face., here are the facts as to what really took place, 2nd day today and still no call backs no apologies nothing., people be aware he never shows any concerns, he is always in a rush when the patients are in his office, whenever he writes new prescriptions he doesn’t cancel out the old prescriptions,. So she was taking multiple similar prescriptions at the same time., he doesn’t keep track of his patients condition nor does he make any follow up calls, he is money hungry person, he should be avoided., during his employment at Dr. Yadigaryian’s office and without any regards for his employer, he stole Dr. Yadigaryian’s patients phone numbers in an attempt to have everyone switch over to his newly established office., not very honorable man.,

I was very ill he helped me even when the door was closed on Friday..he let me in and sent me to the ER after a check up..so in gratitude I painted his portraite,

Dr. Avakian is exceptionally knowledgeable. He diagnosed me and prescribed correct meds: something, that no other MD was able to do for over 20 years!

I was referred to Dr. Avakian by a friend, and couldn't be more grateful. He is a nice and caring person. He spends a generous amount of time with patients. He is very knowledgeable, explains and teaches patients. I would recommend this doctor.

I have been Dr. Avakian's patient for the past couple of years. He is very knowledgeable and experienced. He is compassionate and detailed in his practice. The office is clean and technologically up to date. I have referred him many family and friends.

Dr. Avakian is a walking medical encyclopedia. He made a diagnosis that 2 previous doctors had missed. I am very grateful!
