Dr. Hassassian is a member of National Spine & Pain Centers which is the largest interventional pain specialist group in the U.S. Prior to his joining NSPC, he was the director of division of interventional pain management at the Center for Advanced Orthopedics & Pain Management. Board certified in Pain Medicine as well as in Anesthesiology, Dr. Hassassian earned his medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School, after which he completed an internship in General Surgery at the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology at New York University (NYU) Medical Center, where he also pursued elective work at the NYU Pain Center. After completing fellowship training in Pain Medicine at the University of Maryland (UMD) Medical Center, he stayed on as a faculty member of the School of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology and served as an attending physician at the UMD Pain Center. Prior to his departure from UMD, he was an assistant …professor of Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology. He was also the principal investigator of multiple research projects focusing on the treatment of different pain disorders. Preeminent in his field, Dr. Hassassian has authored various articles and presentations on a multitude of pain disorders and various treatment strategies. He has extensive experience in all aspects of multi-disciplinary pain management including the treatment of acute, chronic, benign, and malignant pain through the use of neuroablative, implantable, radiofrequency, endoscopy, and minimally invasive surgery techniques in outpatient and inpatient settings. An advocate for timely, compassionate patient care, Dr. Hassassian has been recognized for his excellence by his colleagues and has repeatedly been selected as a Top Doctor by Washingtonian Magazine. Hassassian is an epitome of an unprofessional thug. Please avoid.

I was very impressed and happy with Dr. Hassassian and the nurse (Tracy? Can't remember her name), however, when I had to cancel an appointment (due to the office not being able to tell me how much a procedure would be), I was charged a $150 cancellation fee as the appointment was within 24 hours. The Office Manager was not willing to work with me on this even though she was unable to give me a cost estimate for the procedure being done. I offered to postpone the visit until she could calculate an estimate but she would not budge from charging $150 and said that it was my fault for not asking the cost when I scheudled the appointment. I am very disappointed and sadened by this response as other than this I was very happy with my experience. I have since cancelled all follow on appointments and urge caution to those doing business with them if finances are of concern.

The entire staff is very friendly, professional and caring. We have been extremely satisfied with the care my husband has received from everyone. We were very impressed with Dr. Hassassian and Meredith and the caring manner in which they administer to my husbands needs.

I am always treated well by the doctor and his staff. They are always genuinely concerned with my well being and treatment. Very professional, knowledgeable and professional.

The office is run efficiently. I am treated very well by the front staff, nurses. and the nurse practitioner. I feel comfortable there.
